Dial-Adjustable Drag

I bought 3 colors of these Zebco reels for my grandchildren. We have a creek on our property and they like to try to catch the little fish that are swimming in the creek. The poles are easy to use, the line does not get tangled easily and the reels and poles are Zebco sturdy for 4 year olds and up. Zebco has always made excellent fishing equipment. I was happy to see that Amazon carried Zebco at a great price for young children.

Clearly cheap but should be fine for an infrequent casual. I got the blue and red ones; the red was wrapped up tightly and shipped fine, the blue is just set inside an oversized box. First blue one came broken, got a replacement and although it was sent the same way it made the trip. I haven't used them yet, I'll update the post later if anything is noteworthy.

Well, I guess it's true. You get what you pay for. The rod broke at the section where it goes together in the first 3 minutes. I gave 3 stars because at least the reel is still working. It's a good rod for kids starting out but I would be careful with this because it's not the highest quality. Granted it's a 10 dollar rod and reel combo so I am not that bummed. I would however spend an extra 10-20 bucks to get a better quality combo.

Haven’t used this particular rod yet, but it’s a Zebco. They work forever, I have been using Zebcos since I was a kid, a matter of fact I think my father and grandfather have used Zebcos way back when. You can’t ask for a better rod and real for children to begin and learn how to fish with, and you also can’t beat the price. I highly recommend if you’re looking to get into fishing or buy a fishing rod for a child, this is the one to get and by the way adults can use them too lol.

This is a great little rod and reel combo for the money. Purchased for my 4 year old when his skills and excitement for fishing outgrew his little Zebco Splash combo. Classic Zebco budget combo that is affordable for anyone starting out regardless of age. Casts small jigs well, super easy to use and comes ready to go, just tie on your hook. He has caught tons of perch, walleye, and pike on this and the rod has held up perfectly fine to typical 4 year old abuse. Highly recommend for anyone starting out or new to fishing. It’s light, reasonably durable, affordable, compact, and easy to use. Excellent value.
