The silicon tube worked wonderfully. The garlic presser was cheaply made. I will buy a more sturdier garlic press.

Great and sturdy garlic press. The included peeler is very helpful as well. Cleaning is easy under running water.

I’ve used and recommended Zyliss garlic presses for 30 years- I worked for a cookware company and they were considered the best. I bought this one for a friend and won’t give it to her/ it’s so cheaply made it would never survive tough garlic cloves. They used to be made of aluminum and were really sturdy. This is junk. I’m sending it right back.

The garlic press looks great, very clean look, and seems pretty easy to clean. I'm a bit worried looking at it because the press foot hinges from a pin that goes across the handle at a location that must hold the biggest load. The plastic is very strong and very hard, but my experience has been that harder plastic tends to be more brittle, so i get a bit nervous pressing too hard on that handle for fear it may snap. They used a very cool cam method for the main hinge, where the two handles may be separated after they are openned fully, but within the range of function the hinge holds reliably. I don't know why they chose to drill a hole for the pressure foot hinge instead of leaving the plastic intact and using this same hinging method. If it's because of the need for steel, then there should also be steel on the handles hinge too.Regardless of my concerns, it does successfully press garlic (skinned). It bends a bit in doing so, but hasn't broken yet, time will tell if this is going to work out well. The grating upon which the garlic is crushed is stainless steel. The pressure foot has pins that are meant to push the garlic out beyond the grating, it is then very easy to cut off the crushed garlic with a knife, however the knife can't actually scrape against the steel grating because the plastic overmolds around the edges of the plate. This makes it a bit more challenging to clean it out completely between cloves, and to get any skins away before the next clove. Not impossible though, and i do like the pushout pins feature. Since the grating cannot be removed separately, it does need a bit more care to clean off solids before putting into the dishwasher. The press was packaged with a silicone peeler meant to remove the dry skins. It didn't work for me at all, was hugely more effort than just taking them off with my hands. I looked up some videos on how to properly use such a peeler, and found i was doing it wrong. Rolling it the right way was much better, however it's still much faster to just do it with my hands., and there's less damages to the cloves when i do it by hand. I will not be using the peeler. I'll keep using the press though, until it eventually breaks like all others i've used.

Works ok. It's a pain to clean out like every other garlic press there is. I prefer whacking the garlic with the side of my chef's knife.

This is a really good quality garlic press. I love the design! It works great. It's a good size. It is definitely time-saving. Great value for the money. Must have for any kitchen.

You get what you pay for, most times, anyway. In this case, this is certainly true. You're obtaining here a serviceable item which is about as entry level as it gets. First kitchen? Have a task you infrequently set to, and don't want to spend a penny more than you must? This is a decent starter. The press works, though it's build is really bendy. One clove of garlic at a time, and you will be fine.I think what disappointed me the most was the garlic peeler. The piece is too wide and thin, in my opinion. Its effectiveness suffered as a result. Being thin, it didn't quite grip the garlic, and thus didn't remove the skin very well. Perhaps others will have more success. It did work in the end, but was harder to use than others, and tended to break the skin in pieces, leaving them scattered about. For $24 at present offering, I think you can honestly do better. I would say this would be more appropriately priced at about $10.
