Right now, the pressing thing I had was a couple of cheap, two drawer file cabinets. They got wet and instantly rusted. At least it seems that way, I didn’t know they were outside.I had tried a random orbital sander. Somebody out there was going to make a lot of money selling me sandpaper. Just before I dumped $30 of paint stripper on two cabinets worth about $10 each, I ran across these.I honestly did not have much hope. That was, until I ran across the top of the first cabinet. I was down to bare metal in a single pass. I had only enough time to do one top, but it wasn’t too bad, so I did the other. I was not too worried about perfection, just knocking the rust down and generally smoothing things out. It the short amount of time, it was beyond that.The disc did not spew colored plastic as I had expected. It did wear some, but I think the first one will do the majority of the job without wearing completely out. Just be aware that you need to have eye and breathing protection when you use these.I found it was best to let the disc work at its own pace. It does remove the paint faster if you bear down on it, but at the cost of the disc. The harder you press, the quicker it goes away.This is not the disc from the discount store that chucked into a drill. This is capable of more.It is not perfect, but really, nothing is. I gave it 5 stars because it did a job I was dreading with little fuss.

This is a great set of 10 grinding pads. Not sure if the different colors mean anything, they all have the same texture and seem to be made of the same material. Installing one on the grinder was easy. But the hole is a bit recessed so I had to angle my wrench to tighten the nut. I used the purple one to take off 5 years of grime off the blades of my hedge trimmer. A smaller set of sanding heads attached to my 18v did nothing. This pad took off the black grime with ease in a few minutes. After finishing, I noticed the pad looked barely used. These will last a very long time. Great product. Great value for the price listed.

I got these for a roof rack on my truck. It has seen better days and was in need of a repaint along with a little surface rust. The black discs stripped the paint pretty quick and then I worked my way down to purple to prep the metal for paint. It removed all the surface rust and most of the paint that needed to come off. The results were smooth and even enough for a truck roof rack. I think if I had spent a little more time and patience working with the discs I could have gotten a better finished product, but it actually turned out quite nice for the time it took. I couldn’t just leave the rack off for days and days while I worked on it, so this was a great time saver and provided good results. The discs held up well so far and I am sure I will have to do this again on the same roof rack, but there are some other projects that I may use these on as well, including some much-needed attention to some patio furniture. The price seems fair for the variety and quantity of discs that you get. They seemed to hold up well, so no complaints about quality either.

They seem like other stripping discs, pretty course and robust but my favorite feature is the color coding. Other stripping discs I have used in the past are just one color and one degree of coarseness, so a pack of 10 with different grits was what attracted me to these. They explain on the ordering page what each color means, but I had to knock off a star because the color code isn’t explained on the disc itself, so 6 months from now when I go to use them I’m going to scratch my head and wonder “Now what was the blue one for…â€. They seem great otherwise, so if that doesn’t bother you, or you can remember what the color means then get them.

These stripping discs have been a game-changer for my 88 IROC restoration. Compared to traditional flap discs they're seemingly more effectively and longer lasting but that depends on which color disc you use. I’ve found that the black ones wear out the fastest, but overall, the set has been very solid.Overall this pack is perfect if you’re working on a restoration or just need a reliable way to prep metal, these are worth it.

This is a nice combo pack of 10) 4" grinding disk. These are the abrasive sponge type and have a full fiber and metal backing disk on each one. These aren't different textures, just different colors. I don't know why they're different colors, but they are. They all strip paint just as they should and fit a 5/8 chuck. Don't seem to wear out any quicker or slower than other disk. Plus, I guess they're easy to find. Recommended!

So the black one is the roughest one, The Green ones are the least rough, and the purple and blue are similar in performance according to their site.So why couldn't you print that on the box they came inSo why couldn't you write it on the discs themselvesAND why would you color them purple and blue if they do the same thing - if the purple and blue were stacked in order next to the black ones we could guess that one might be slightly rougher ----if they were stacked that way - but there not. You stuck the green in between so who knows. I don't and I guess they don'tBy the way feeling them gives no clue.Otherwise ok

I refinish furniture and sometimes the old paint is hard to get off of on some of the pieces that I am working on and need some additional help other than sandpaper. This works great on some of those tough spots. I do it pretty lightly so as to not scrape up the wood, but it works quickly and easily. These are great to use on many other things as well, and I am looking forward to finding other good uses besides my furniture. Good item!
