These are not the "stone-like" Aluminum Oxide wheels I've bought in the past - these are much softer, maybe more like AlO2 grains embedded in some softer material. I don't know whether this is supposed to be a replacement for the grinding stones,Â
 because it simply doesn't grind all that well, and wears down to quickly.UPDATE:- Well, they still *do* wear down quickly, but as it turns out, they're decent for putting a *polish* onto 304 stainless steel. As long as something more durable (like a series of good diamond files!) is used for the actual grinding, these can be used as decent polishers.- Mostly, I use it as a final step, meaning, polish/smooth-down the tips of my knitting needles, and the tips and edges of my Kalimba tines (yeah, I use spring-tempered *304 stainless* instead of the typical carbon spring steel).- So, I'm making a liar of myself, LOL!, and ordering another. =;-)

I needed to remove paint from brick, and neither chemicals nor sanding even budged it. The Dremel abrasive wheel took care of it easily and without damaging the brick.
