The counter plate, p/n CJ603E-CTPLATE, is a consumable that will eventually break with use. It's the part that presses the limbs into the cutter blade. The problem is, this part is NOT available from Sun Joe's website. If you call them, they will tell you it's on backorder. Only place I've seen that carries this part (Amazon doesn't sell it) ships out of NZ, and charges $30 shipping for a small $10 part.So if you're OK with paying $40 once every year or so to maintain this chipper depending on how much you use it, then perhaps this is the chipper for you.Note: I had no problem with the cutter blade. It still works fine. This item SHOULD ship with an additional contact plate, not cutter blade, which is widely available for replacement.
