I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I bought this to file my Corgi puppy's nails. It does works perfectly for that.

The item being reviewed is 2P 6-inch Flat Medium Cut File Double Cut Teeth High Hardened Steel Hand File Without Handle Suitable for Shaping Wood, Metal, Plastic (Brand: DERSTRA). I gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.For a low price ($5.99 at the time of review), you are getting a pair of 6-inch old-fashioned flat hand files. They are not fancy tools, but they get the job done. The build quality is good and the size is good for most routine jobs. The only thing that it could be improved on is to have a handle for easier grip. But you can just wrap a rag around it or DIY a handle if you want a more permanent solution.

Excellent file. Cuts annealed steel exactly as you'd want. Good size for shaping small parts. One of them arrived with a tiny amount of rust on it, but a squirt of WD-40 and you'd never know. I'd buy them again.

Use it every day. Convenient because it fits in your tool belt easily without sticking you in the ribs every time you kneel or bend down.

Overall the file works good. I use it on a brake caliper bracket to clean off the flaking rust, and there was no damage to the file when I was done. It would have been nice if it had a handle on it, the handles I have are for bigger files.
