INSTALLATION WAS A BREEZE. fIRED RIGHT UP AND NOW HAS A DEPENDABLE HEI DISTRIBUTOR. a LITTLE MORE THAN THE OUTSHORE JUNK FOUND ON AMAZON. BUT WELL WORTH IT. NO REGRETS WITH ACCEL.

The process in manufacturing this “Top of the Line” in spark delivery is the best for use in “First Class ” production of this and their other products. This model and its “relative's, have shown to be exceptional in their designs,I installed the distributor I’m replacing in 2015, never had any issues with it (once I installed a AC Delco Professional spark controller) even on “Custom” application engines (I’m converting a 1994 2” TBI fuel delivery system on my 8,600 lbs GVW K2500 to a 600 cfm Holley Brawler, with a “Stand Alone” HEI distributor (This model) The housing of this highly rated distributor and the throttle cable ailment guide/hold down assembly are both made from 6061 aircraft aluminum, the difference is this is polished and stressed relieved cast and the guide is machined from solid billet, and anodized, both with stainless steel fasteners. This has brass and copper electrical contacts . It Makes for a Very “Cost Effective”, simple installation process . Using the supplied gear grease as the “friction” modifier insures that the drive gear won’t gall up or overheat during the breaking in process . (The “Looks” I get from folks when I tell them I’m going “Old School” - from a “ computer controlled fuel injection, ignition system” to a 4 Barrel Holley, stand alone HEI ignition Accel distributor on a 3/4 ton, 4 X 4) is Priceless. Thanks to Amazon for selling the necessary items from the smart Folks at, “Accel”, General Motors, Kahos and Holley- (All are so easy to adjust and Fine Tune)

The ACCEL 59310 HEI worked great in my 1973 C20. I had just been replacing the points and condenser in my old truck every now and then. It was often enough that it was becoming annoying so I was looking for a replacement and this is what I chose and I couldn't be happier. It is super simple to install ONCE you know what you are doing. Watch a few youtube videos if you aren't sure but you won't have any problems if you take your time. I've noticed an increase in MPG and my truck is surprisingly more peppy. This is something I wish I'd done YEARS ago.

I’ve ordered and used this particular distributor multiple times. They always work great right out of the box and don’t have the extreme timing issues I’ve run into with other off brand distributors. The vacuum advance limiter is easy to install and change if needed. No surprise that this one worked great right out of the box. Fantastic value!

The distributor arrived without visible damage and appeared to be made well. The electrical connections looked good, although I failed to miss a section of the cap was broken. The install went well in a 68' C-10, and I put new plugs in at the same time. I didn't notice the cap broken until I went to plug in the power/tach connector and found a small section of the cap where the locking tabs are was missing. The connector would not stay secure. It too late to run for a new cap and I didn't want to put the used on back on, so I used a wire tie to temporarily secure it. After everything was back in place, the truck started right up and idled nice from the start. I set the timing and took it for a ride, what a surprising difference. The distributor made a huge difference, and the truck ran smoother than ever. The old distributor had a flutter right around 3K rpm's and once I removed it, the bottom of it looked like it had been on a vehicle drug out of a lake. Not surprising, as to most of the systems on the truck were so badly hacked up it has been over a year of making things right. Tonight, finally brought some pleasant calm to the project as it very smoothly went through the gears. Therefore, if it wouldn't have been for the cap, I would have given it 5 stars. The cap walls do seem fairly thin though compared to the NAPA one I had one it.Happy wrenching!

I had purchased a different distributor and it only lasted less then 500 miles. So this time i chose to purchase a name brand that i trust even tho it was twice as much money. i hope this one lasts. so far it seems to run better then it did when the old one was working. it was a complete unit ready to install and it installed easily and even tho it was more money I think the value for the money is good. I didn't rate the longevity of this as i just installed it but i will update this in 6 months

I had problems with cheaper products trying to save a few bucks. Not worth the ACCEL may be made on China but the specs are tight. For example all the cap plug wire connections are brass and machines after assembly for true co centricity. The timing curve was near perfect, no misses easy starts awesome, highly recommended1981. Product manufacturer shows in USA but nowhere does it say built in China. Not taking a chance on my $15k big block.
