I was shocked when I took the pie from the oven. Beautifully browned crust! I’m used to burnt together with barely cooked crust. This shield is a game changer and pie saver. No more fumbling around with foil! Foil never worked for me. Put the shield around the pie crust and you’re good to go in the oven.

I am really happy to have these nowThey work great for protecting the pie crust from getting too browned while bakingEven my larger pies get protected now since I can put two together for bigger sizesThe silicone is soft and flexible but stays in place well, they wash up easily

While this is not a 'must have' product, my husband tends to burn the crusts of every pie he makes (frozen first and then baked) and these have solved that problem for good. Although there is a way to lock in the oversized length of each for some smaller pie sizes, I was able to use a toothpick to hold them tight around the crust, preventing the crust from burning. I kept a couple and gave away the other two (comes in a set of four) as they are now one of my "must haves" for pie baking. Recommend.

These UAREBST Adjustable Pie Crust Shields, Silicone Baking Protectors work very well on "normal" sized crusts - we tried to use them on some Marie Calenders pot pies, but the design of the shields, although adjustable, just won't do for the single serving size crusts. However they perform very well on various "normal" size crusts. Not to mention easier to manage than using the aluminum foil method of protecting your crust edges. However, if you leave the silicone protector on the crust the entire cooking time, we noticed a definite color difference between the lighter protected edges and the golden baked center (didn't effect the taste though) - so it would be advisable to remove the silicone protector just before finishing cooking time.

The wife has been wanting crust shields for when she bakes pies. She loves these shields as she can now adjust them when she breaks out a pan (she has 9, 10, 12, and 16 inch pans) and she is planning to test them out on her cake pan (rectangle) by linking multiple shields together for when she bakes a cobbler.The shields are rather sturdy but flexible and the fact you can adjust their sizes is great.. So far all you have to do is wrap them around the pan to get the needed size then lock the tab in place. Simple as that to use. Washing is just as easy. Get some soapy water, wash / rinse them by hand, then let them dry before you roll them up and store them. We put them in a ziplock baggy to keep them clean and easy to find.

These silicone pie crust shields will be an amazing aid when my wife next bakes pies for the family or another occasion. She hasn't used them yet but I can tell that the design will allow these to be easily added around the perimeter of the crust to reduce the potential of over baking or burning. Pictures of these on a clear Pyrex pie dish don't show the dish too well but it is there. She has had metal shields which she has used for years but they have become a bit bent and aren't always the easiest to clean burned pie juices off of. We have some silicone baking pans so we know the silicone will remove easily and be easy to clean up.I like that these shields are adjustable for different sizes. These will be much better than trying to wrap with aluminum foil edge as I have seen her do in the past on occasion as well. Still considering how will be the best method of storing these but since they can be wrapped together we can easily store all four of them in about the same space as one.

I had a set of these a while back, and they seem to have disappeared from my baking drawer (I blame the hubby; he never puts things back where they belong...heh!) I love using these to keep the crusts of my pies from burning - I'm not a fan of burnt crust! These work like a charm. I love that they're adjustable, so it really doesn't matter what size your pie is; these will fit! While they have a little 'tab' you can secure it with, I don't bother using it, it's just easier to place this on the crust, and any overage just overlaps with no issues (and if you're like me and take these off for the last 10 minutes or so of baking to make sure the crust is golden brown, it's faster/easier to take these off if the tab isn't hooked. 😉) No more messing around with foil pieces to protect your pie crust! These clean up easily - and they're dishwasher safe- a win in my book. Reasonably priced - highly recommend!

Can't wait to use these next time I make pies instead of having to tear apart little strips of tin foil and wrap it around in layered fragments. These are nicely made and can easily be arranged on a pie crust.
