Be sure to pretest the setup. Fitting the ready-to-use blower into the space requires a little patience. The wire connections and attached pads make it a tight fit at the front of the fireplace. There is plenty of space to rotate the unit as required once it is located at the back of the space. Online videos are very helpful. Unit at 50% speed is relatively quiet. Good airflow.

Like others I wasn't sure what the green wire is for, but I attached it to a screw on the fan. It's definitely louder than no fan, but I suppose I'll get used to it with time. I turned it down to less than half way. Seems well made. The foam pads included are foam, not velcro, but it was easy to unstick and re-stick in a better spot. It took a while for the fan to come on, but I suppose that is because it takes a while for the fireplace to get up to 120 degrees.....maybe 15 min. I discovered a place for batteries as I was cleaning out under the fireplace. I found out that If I installed batteries, my fireplace would still light even during a power outage. That is good to know.

Works but a bit noisy. The temperature sensor is set way to high. Requested a new one and they sent it at no charge but same problem. Claims will start at 120 but more like 250 f. Has to be really hot for the fan to start. It's acceptable just annoying.

Our fan on our home’s fireplace died. I checked it out and thougt, “I can do this… I can replace itâ€. So I ordered this kit which has everything one needs to do the job. It took about 30 minutes, but I was careful in the removal of the old unit, and cleaned/prepped the surface for the 3M (included) adhesive foam pads the fan rests on. If I had know it was this easy to replace, I would have replace the original a year or so ago instead of Tri-Flowing it back into working again!

Too bad I can't give this piece of junk a half star. Reasonably easy to install. Motor quiet. Fan noise acceptable and can be ignored at about half speed. It's super quiet now that it shorted out and quit working after about two months of occasional use. The worse part is after two months the Amazon website tells me it is no longer eligible for return. Definitely won't buy another one, but haven't decided to try something else or leave it alone.UPDATE Turns out I need to eat a little crow. I removed the fan, took it to my garage and "bench tested " it. Purrs like a kitten. Put an ohm meter on the switch and aha. My apologies to the manufacturer for jumping to conclusions before investing the situation. I'm intend to replace the switch and that should cure the problem.
