No matter what your disability may be, you can sit in a chair and peddle this machine. Great exercise even when it is cold outside

This stepper is a great exercise device for my elderly mom. She is in physical therapy, but doesn't get to much activity, and this helps her move a bit more. It is easy to use and takes no time to figure out. The remote works well and has a holding place on the machine. We keep it by her chair so she is reminded to use it daily. Getting her moving and her blood circulating is so important, and this stepper does it.

My positive observations:--unit is heavy enough to stay in place when in use but light enough to grab and move using the integrated handle--unlike my old manual unit, the movement is ultra smooth in pedaling causing less stress to hip and knee joints--unit operates in almost total silence--unit small enough to fit under a desk--even between the unusually narrow outrigger legs of my adjustable height desk (Note: this unit is NOT for use in a standing position)--highly textured foot pads help keep your feet in place and leave a pleasant tingle when you're done--remote control (with a place to stow it) is especially helpful for users who can't bend easily or tend to misplace remotes--instructions are fairly easy to understand--unit operates in manual or one of 12 pre-programmed modes--in manual mode you independently control 12 levels of speed and 2 directions (forward / backwards)--in automatic mode the machine tallies your distance, steps, remaining time in countdown mode up to 30 minutes, calories expended and speed. The unit cycles through the above parameters every 5 seconds. My negative observations:--my main criticism is that the printed labels on the control panel for the above parameters are WAY too small to be read when viewed from the seated position in which the unit will be used. I suggest that the digital readout of numbers also include a code telling the user which parameter is being reported (ex: D for distance, S for steps, a clock face for time remaining, C for calories and SP for speed).--question: “steps†is pretty obvious. I finally figured out that “distance†must be distance traveled since it’s almost exactly twice the number of steps (using a good approximation of one’s pace) This is not covered in the manual--some users might want the unit to be linked to an app to record steps or calorie expenditure. I don't need that but I would like readable results like steps which I can manually enter into my fitness app. I'd also like the counts to stay until you turn off the power (instead of restarting or resetting) long enough to make a note or in case your exercise session is interrupted.--easy maintenance includes occasional lubrication with included brush and lubricantThose who are sedentary, find it inconvenient to go to a gym or are limited by the seasons or weather to walk or swim will probably find this unit a welcome addition to their exercise regimen. Hurray!!--TV and computer time can now also double as exercise time!!

After two knee replacements and back surgery in two years I can use all the movement I can get! Since I watch a lot of tv, having this elliptical at my feet is just the ticket for my laziness! I mean, I do get out and go for walks, but a body in motion stays in motion, etc...!This machine is light enough for me to tote from across the room, but yet doesn't move a fraction when using it. I usually use it in manual, but it's easy to use with the remote. I can feel my legs actually getting some action, unlike cheaper made models I've tried.Downside is that the display is darn near impossible to read from where I'm sitting, but to be fair, I'm really going for activity alone rather than really trying to get a real workout. Hence why I use it in manual more often than not. I mean come on, this is not to be used as a replacement for real exercise, but more for just keeping the old body moving.

This helps me to get some exercise in even when I'm at my desk. It is silent but there is enough resistance the actually get a good workout going. It has several different modes and the pedals are big enough to fit even larger feet. It is dense and feels solid so it feels like it will hold up to some abuse for quite a while.

I will start out by saying this machine was easy to use (turn on/off; pick speed; etc) and was very quiet. However the description fails to mention there is very little tension within the pedals. I was hoping for an exercise bike equivalent machine in a smaller size. This product is not that. The machine can move at a faster speed but the tension always remained the same no matter how fast you pedaled. This would be a great machine for an older person or someone with mobility issues who otherwise gets very little exercise. For someone looking to build muscle strength, there are better options on the market.
