How to choose the right bandsaw blades

  • The narrower the blade in width (or depth), the tighter the cut radius possible and therefore, it's more suited to curve-work.
  • The wider the blade, the easier to maintain a straight cut and therefore more suitable to straight cuts and resaw work.
  • The less teeth per inch, the more aggressive the cut, more effective the chip/swarf clearance, and is therefore more suited to deeper stock or cutting with the long fibres of the grain.
  • Curve-cutting blades often have six or more teeth per inch. The more teeth per inch, the smoother the finished cut and less tear out when cutting across the grain.

Saw blades works as they should. It was a pack of 2 blades at 6 tpi each. It would have been nice if they offered the 2 pack with different pitch, such as one at 6 tpi and 2nd one at 18 tpi.

These blades are thinner than other blades which produces a very thin kerf with less effort. Also the price is right.

This is a very common size for 14in band saws in the area. However when I tried using it on my Delta knock off, I discovered a handwritten note inside the saw saying 92". Sure enough, these blades are too long.Rather than return them, I took the oportunity to modify my blade shield and tensioning mechanism to accommodate these longer blades. They work wonderfully! I will be purchasing more in the future.

I needed some cheap-o throw away kind of blades to use on some funky wood on my powermatic bandsaw. These surprised the heck out of me! They cut great and last much longer than expected! They are a little more flexible than most blades and can be a little twisty in thicker material but for just cleaning off some edges or basic shape cutting on flat work, these are more than adequate. I haven’t tried to sharpen them yet but I predict they will do fine with one or two sharpenings, as well.

I get a few cuts on hardwood, then the teeth disappear.
