I purchased one of these for salt and a different color for pepper. Very nicely made doesn’t hold as much as I would’ve liked perhaps. However, they work nicely.

So the shape looks like you can store a ton of pepper/salt in it, but really it's just a narrow plastic tube from the top to the grinder. I find the settings for fine-ness of the grind to be OK, and it's pretty easy to use and twist.Most stores that sell rock salt and peppercorns sell the container with a built-in grinder, so you are doing this just because it looks cool. The one thing I didn't realize is that when you set it down, there will always be a bit of salt/pepper that falls from the bottom making a little mess. A lot of those built-in grinders have a small cap that prevents this, or the grinder is on the top.That being said, it's not as big as the pepper grinder you see in the Olive Garden restaurant, but it's big enough and they look nice on the table.

I needed to use a small funnel to fill with peppercorn. Which doesn't make it easy to refill. Once filled I did test the different grinding. When I tightened the grinder to get the large coarse of pepper it didn't twist easily, it didn't give out a larger coarse of pepper. It works for fine if that's what your looking for. Maybe it will break in and will be able to give the larger coarse pepper. As for now fine it is and I'm fine with that.
