Bought this tool to replace a lower ball joint on a 2009 Subaru Forester. Once the tool was screwed onto the ball joint, it pulled it out with ease. Would highly recommend to anyone replacing ball joints on a subaru.

I had the snap on bjr2 version while I was a tech for Subaru, sold it and needed a puller for a car I bought, so I settled on this one. It works without any issue, a tip I can offer if your in a rusty area is heat the knuckle area with a torch or mini propane version of a torch and you will have no issue with the bolt or the pulling of the ball joint. If you do that this tool will last you forever, there was no issue pulling at all.

It partially pulled out the ball joint until the threads stripped out, I wouldn’t recommend for daily use

This thing was exactly what I needed. Great value for money mostly because I have to do the other side. I worked like a dog to try and remove that ball joint to no avail. It took about 5 turns with a breaker bar and socket to extricate the ball joint. A must have for those Subaru's anywhere.

This just works. PULLED THAT ball joints out with ease and safely. Should have bought it years ago and would have saved me a lot of pain .

I didn't have the issues other have mentioned with the threads stripping. I put some anti-seize on the threads and used a ratchet instead of an impact.My car also isn't very rusty, but the ball joints were too seized for me to remove without the tool.

I had a solid rusted ball joint that would not come apart no matter what I tried. No amount of penetrant or leverage was enough. I even tried an air hammer on the lip and it didn’t budge.I wish I’d stumbled on this sooner. With this tool, within 5 minutes of the delivery, it was apart using an impact driver.Regarding thread stripping, if you are replacing the joint, I advise taking the nut off the tool, gripping the shaft of the ball joint with vise-grips so it doesn’t spin, and screwing the tool until it bottoms out before replacing the nut. I was able to get several more turns which should reduce the likelihood of stripping.

Fell apart my first time using it - I should have expected garbage for the price paid. The pin that keeps the threaded rod in the center sheared off plus threads were damaged on the rod when using the impact driver. The only reason I'm giving two stars is that it got the ball joint mostly out before it disintegrated. Do yourself a favor and buy a better quality tool.
