This is a sturdy pastry cutter/blender. I did research on the sturdiness, ergonomics and efficiency of different brands of pastry cutters. I expected to have to buy a luxury brand cutter to get this quality and workmanship. I have arthritis and using my hands to blend cold butter into flour mix is painful. This thing has a large, rubbery grip and the tines come up the sides so you can scrape the bowl with them and get every bit of butter into the mix. You still have to take a knife or spoon and scrape butter from between the tines, and there's brands that offer a built-in scraper, but that just seemed to be one more place to have to try to clean out tiny crevasses.

Love it! Well built. The metal is the right gauge for sturdy but thin and efficient blades. The slightly curved sides get all the way around the bowl without having to turn your wrist to sweep the sides for unblended flour. The handle is comfortable and the extra height lets me us any container or double my recipe and my knuckles aren't in the mess. I use this for chopping eggs for egg salad and other soft chopping or blending jobs. It's also great at slicing that famous american cheese that you buy in the long box (wink wink) to layer on your casseroles!

this is okay. but unless I was doing it wrong, it wouldn't break up the butter very well into the flour. so, I don't know if it was me or the blade. I didn't think the blade was sharp enough.

Sturdy, comfortable to hold, glides through what I'm cutting (dough, eggs for egg salad, etc.) Holds it shape and doesn't bend.

At first glance this seems like a great pastry cutter/blender. But the blades are fat, making it difficult to use. The blades also bend VERY easily, so the edge blades get pushed up against the next blade.My other pastry cutter has smooth round wire type blades, so I never worried about cutting myself. The blades on this, while thick, are super sharp on the edges. The first time I used it, out of habit I ran my finger over the blades to push the dough off, and cut my finger rather badly.I love the handle, and the overall shape of the tool. But in actual use, it's just not that great. The blades bend towards each other very easily, and have to be bent back into alignment. I imagine this means a weak spot will develop, which will eventually break.

This purchase is to replace my other Cuisipro. I liked it so much, I had to have another one. My old one broke apart at the weld on the handle. I had it for about 4 years though, and I use it often, as I bake alot. It has a longer arm, or better put: it has a deeper reach into a mixing bowl. The handle is quite comfortable but is not round, so the grip is very good on it too and doesn't come loose and go in circles. It really is the best pastry blender I've ever used. It seems a bit pricey, but after looking around, it's not much more than the junky ones.I would recommend this to anyone who bakes alot. It's a well designed, must have kitchen tool.

It does exactly as the name says, blends pastry.I like the simple design. Stainless steel blades that hold up while pressed into solid, ice cold butter. Nothing that can peel off into your food. Simply put - a good, solid, useful product. It looks well made enough to last a lifetime.
