Took this on a dispersed camping trip up into the far corner of Eldorado National Forest. Performed just fine. I used this thing to dig through super rocky soil, used it as a makeshift hammer, thwacked a bunch of branches and small logs with it, and used it as a crappy baseball bat when my buddy and I got bored and used rocks as baseballs. The only issue is that it kept loosening up after repeated use, but that's a really standard problem with all of these shovels, and a quick 1/4-inch turn fixed the issue. From there, it was back to beating the crap out of it.TL:DR - Kinda' small, but held up to tons of unintended and intended abuse. Worth the price.

Works well. very handy, howwver, there is a learning curve to folding and unfolding. The manufacturers should create a very clear insteuctional video.

If you've done time in the Infantry, this is half the size of a military issue E-Tool.But don't let the size and wonky construction fool ya.Mine has survived, Great Smokey Mountains, Blue Ridge Trail and several trips to Texas Gulf Coast Beaches.And pulled its weight every time. Should try it out before you ship it back.
