I needed a way to connect my hp laptop to my Yaesu FT-818 transceiver so that I could do digital radio. I purchased a Digirig unit along with a cable to connect it to my FT-818. I connected it all altogether and after some software setup it worked just fine. I am using it with WSJT-X and Fldigi. They both work well with Digirig.I also purchased the cable to connect it to a BAOFENG 5RX handheld radio. That also worked but the FT-818 is a much better radio so I normally use it. The main problem with the BAOFENG is that the receiver seems to get overloaded if connected to good outdoor antenna and does not receive well.Digirig also provides an output to program the radio and a cable is provided to do this. This also worked and provides a additional useful function.I highly recommend Digirig as a digital interface between a computer and a radio. It is a very nice and easy way to do digital radio using a very small well-designed unit.

Bought the Signalink first and took forever so I bought this one to play with. Turns out I prefer the Digirig for several reasons:1) CAT control set up. Signalink is a PIA for support and I got Digirig running much easier with Flrig and use it for both WJST-X and Fldigi. Do a youtube search for "Getting FLRig to Play Nice with the Xiegu G90" by ErnieTech and he's got a great short video to get it going.2) Form factor. This thing is TINY. Great for POTA and SOTA when space is a premium.3) Cost Half the price of a Signalink. Buy two and keep one with each respective radio for the price of one bulky Signalink.4) Solid construction. Aluminum body. Signalink probably fine with POTA/SOTA rough housing in a bag but this thing is like a little tank.Don't forget to buy the cables too!Good stuff!

The DigiRig is a game changer. Its diminutive size vs its efficacy is SUPERB! I use it with my pedestrian amateur radio station and my laptop and numerous digital communication platform.

Wow, this thing is small! Like... Really small! But it unlocks the world of digital modes and seamlessly connected my ft817 to my surface pro. Right off the bat 14000km Jt8 contact on nothing more then a wire and this little magic box. Way better built then my previous Rig blaster PnP and much easier to configure worked right out of the box with the cables specifically made for the rig. 10/10 perfect for portable QRP stations.

This is an incredibly neat solution to getting 'older' radios connected to the PC. It provides both Rig Control and Audio interfaces. By default it's configured for 3.3v logic level for the rig control, but can be re-wired for RS232 levels. Supports most radios I can think of. You will need to use a soldering iron to reconfigure some of the options but the website is very supportive and videos exist of how to do this, and besides, if you're buying this you should know how to use a soldering iron. I made my own cables (For Icom IC-7000) and it all just worked as it was supposed to. Use it mostly with WSJT-X. Uses CP210 drivers which all the modern radios use by default anyway so no compatibility issues.Tim G6GEI

Nach ersten Tests hab ich den Kauf nicht bereut, einzig der sogenannte Morsetrainer ist ein Witz, er piept, mehr nicht.Antennenanpassung klappt problemlos, das Gerät ist klein, Handlich und macht was es soll.

I needed a USB isolater. They say you need one to stop ground loops between your radio and the computer. However my unit had a strong hum with the audio cable only plugged into the sound card. This when captured has a complex waveform. I think the soundcard picks up USB power noise or common mode noise on the USB twisted data pairs coming only from the computer. Maybe it's my PC but I believe they should build an isolator into the unit itself. Maybe call it the deluxe version? Also they connect the serial port RTS to the PTT via the soundcard. Which is a great idea! However challenging when you first get one and you don't know why it's hitting transmit. Flrig config for the G90 defaults to RTS on. Which means even with the cat cable unplugged it hits transmit the instant flrig starts up. Not digirigs fault but something to look out for
