I don't claim to be an expert, but I believe the drive gear is a standard type for a flat tappet camshaft.IDK if it is melonized or appropriate for a roller camshaft.Anyways it works fine for my 3/4 ton because it has a non-roller lifter RV/Truck cam.The cap has brass terminals.When it's new out of the box, it is not lubricated. I squirted oil into the shaft while holding it upside down so it would be well lubricated. I didn't want to run it dry on startup. Price a Cap/Rotor/Ignition module it's only a few more bucks to get the entire distributor !I Hope My Review Was A Little Bit Helpful To You !!

This was ordered and installed in a 1997 Chevy Silverado for a friend. Quality was durable and auto store parts quality. Mechanical knowledge is needed to install, you'll need to know the timing marks, etc. Installation was as expected and not major glitches. It started on the first try after installing. (Review is for Distributor Fit for 1987-1997 GMC Chevy 1500 2500 3500 C/K Pickup Truck Van)
