These are bevelled, type 29 flap discs for a 4-1/2" angle grinder. They have an offset hub and that work reasonably well. I only have two negatives to share, but one is a biggie.1. They are not "flat." And I don't mean that they've bevelled, which I expect and use to my advantage on purpose. I mean that the belevelled section is not planar. It is instead slightly cupped, so the edges of the little flaps hit the surface I'm grinding beford the middle finally contacts. After some use, this all evens out, but expect all the flaps to be on the same plane.2. The biggie for me: a LOT less sandpaper as compared to the big brands (in this case DeWalt). My DeWalt flap disks have at least 20% more actual flaps AND each flap is about 20% larger. So the wheel is thicker and more dense, and it lasts about 2x as long. It also custs faster. Of course it also costs almost 2x as much. So from a strictly financial standpoint it is a wash. But having to change discs more often AND generating more waste is not what I strive for. So in this case the more expensive, higher-quality, name-brand product wins. But for the price these are reasonably well built and effective. And these discs would be great if you've never used a higher-end flap disk before. I mean when standing alone it LOOKS the same. But when you compare how they're built and how they operate, the difference becomes clear.

I've had an angle grinder for years, but never really used one much until I got a cordless angle grinder and discovered how all-around useful they are.I bought some flap disks to sharpen mower blades with my guide, and they work great, but I saw these and thought they looked useful, even though my grinder instructions said specifically to not use type 29 disks. These work great! They're about a buck apiece, and they grind contours easier than the flat disks and do what I expected. I defied the instructions and used a type 29 disk in my angle grinder and the world didn't end!Unlike some other reviewers, I don't have long experience or other brands to compare to, so I can only go by my own experience with these and give them 5 stars. They work for me.

Flap wheels are the way to go for sure and these worked as described. They made quick work on metal and wood alike. They also held up well to typical use.

I have a welding project coming up, and I tend to prefer to use flap discs over hard grinding wheels when smoothing out weld and cleaning up mill scale before making the welds. But the downside to that is that you can burn through flap discs pretty quickly. So, I ordered these to give them a try. One thing I noticed right away is that these disc are a good bit thinner--almost 50% thinner--than the brand name Norton flap discs I'm currently using (see my photo; this disc is the one on top and the Norton disc is the one on the bottom). In terms of performance I don't think it'll make a difference but I imagine they won't have quite the same lifespan. Of course, I find that flap discs lose a lot of their performance quickly and that their usability drops considerably towards the end of their life, even when there's seemingly still a good bit of material on the flaps because the backing fabric blocks access to the grit below. The fiberglass disc that the flaps are attached to on this disc is also thinner than the fiberglass disc on my Nortons. I'm not sure that really makes a difference in use; this flap disc seems sturdy enough.Other than that, these fit my grinder well. The price is certainly less than you would pay for a 10 pack of the Norton discs. Only time will tell whether these last long enough to make the lower price turn into a better value.

I used one of these to remove some paint so that I could do some welding, it worked very well and only suffered a small bit of wear during the half an hour of use. These seem a bit more aggressive than some others I have used in the past and basically removed the paint and some rust under the paint in one pass. They did not clog up or loose any of their performance while I was using them. The outer corners were the only parts of the flaps that were showing any wear. The other flap disks I have used for this same batch of painted metal tend to clog up and get slower as you use them. These did not do either of those things. They seemed to cut away the paint instead of melting it.These also worked good for removing some protruding bits of metal on the edges that I was going to weld together, I didn't have to find a grinding wheel to do that, just used the flap disk. The build quality looks OK, about the same as the majority of the flap disks I have used.

These flap wheels are just as good and in some cases better than the more expensive brand names. I am the kind of welder that needs to grind a lot of my work, and these things are good at removing material fast. They also tend to last longer than more expensive ones. The only detail I don't care for is the arbor, I prefer the threaded type, but that is a minor detail in the overall usefulness of these consumables. For a low cost flap wheel, they are impressive. I recommend purchasing.

These are a good disc for small projects around the house. They are a little thinner than the more expensive brands. They grind pretty well and attach to the angle grinder with no problems. They are a good value for the money. The only problem is if you are working on a bigger project you will have to change the disc more often. Overall they are a pretty solid disc.
