The discs work well with the 3 Mirrors tungsten electrode sharpener and are able to quickly sharpen a new tungsten without any noticeable wear. Its not only faster than my normal bench grinder, it also avoids me from wearing a groove into my bench grinder stone wheel while sharpening tungstens. These discs are great value for money and well worth their cost.

needed smoothing to quickly sharpen masonry hammer drill bits. tried 5 pack as test, worked ok! cleaned up cutting edge on about 8 bits from small 1/4 inch to large expensive 7/8 inch SDS may bit. used fixed speed hand held die grinder. tips look good have not tested them yet but clean sharp edge. Note they are not perfectly balanced, so might work better a lower speed. however i was able to quickly get clean edge without taking off tooo much material. both gringdr and bit hand held so edge not perfect but should help prolong life of hundred dollar bit.

What kind of lunatic tries to cut through a half-inch hardened steel rod with a hand-held rotary tool? (I raise my hand ... )Without going into too much detail, let's just say I spent a full day crouched over a hole in the ground, grinding away with these little wheels. I wore out most of the discs, my back and my patience — but in the end, the rod surrendered. The discs that remain have proved valuable for a variety of cutting & polishing chores, and I'd recommend them for medium-duty chores around the house.

These work well for grinding tungsten electrodes (for welding). I also used one for cutting plastic headlight lenses with good results.

I'm using these to sharpen tungsten electrodes for tig welding. They do a great job for that.

Most buyers will likely think these diamond disks look fragile becuase of their thinness, and they would be correct in thinking that if you apply too much pressure to the face OR to the perimeter edge, they will distort out of flatness and also wear the center hole to the point that they will sotp rotating even though their mounting shaft is still rotating. BUT . . .If you are applying that much pressure to sharpen a TIG Tungsten electrode, you are not using them correctly. It does NOT take much pressure to properly sharpen the electrode - you instead let the diamond grit do the work! Mount the diamond wheel snugly onto the shaft, apply only moderate pressure, rotate the shaft continuously in yoru fingers, and patiently let the diamond grit do the shaping of the electrode. Also, do NOT try to cut the electrode shorter by holding it against the rim of the diamond wheel. This creates too much force for the very small bearing surface bewteen the motuning screw and the diamond wheel, and so causes the wheel to "slip" on the shaft. THis enlarges the mounting hole in the wheel until it no longer will rotate proeprly with the shaft. The wheel is then ruined and needs to be discarded. The RIGHT way to shorten the electrode (to cut off any deposits on and near the end of the electrode), is to grind a "V" groove around the entire circumference of the electrode, just above the deposits, and then SNAP the electrode. Then, use the diamond wheel to grind the cut end to the desired angular point. This process has been working well for me.
