The chains on the trailer were too short and only 5/16. This allowed me to cut to length and attached the upgraded 3/8 Chain with a 1/2 grade 8 bolt. The old 5/16 chain had a 3/8 grade 5 bolt going through a 1/2 hole. Everything is well matched, sized and secure now.
