Not every factory replacement part is perfect. Being a stamped part is an issue. The slot on the part was slightly smaller than the transmission shifter shaft. A very small file fixed the issue.

Even after installing this part, the selector cable was falling off of the 'nipple'. Our solution was to break off the nipple, drill out a hole and put a bolt thru the hole. We then were able to bolt the cable onto this part... like GM should have done in the first place.
