Be careful to check product measurements against your pot and leave yourself a little room. I do not think manufacturer measurements are accurate.

I purchased this Granite Ware Canner Rack to go with a 16 quart stock pot I use for smaller canning jobs. I purchased the “11.5 quart†option because the diameter noted in the product details was a good match for the diameter of our stock pot (our pot is 10.5 inches inside and this rack is 10.31 inches - fits like a glove). This rack provides better support during jar processing than what I was previously using, but does not have any built in dividers to keep jars separated (it did not advertise having such a feature, so no problem). With my deeper pot (necessary to get water/jar coverage for canning), the handles on this rack are completely submerged when the rack sits in the bottom of the pot, but that’s not a problem since I use a jar holder/grabber to safely move jars in and out of the hot water. I noticed several comments in the reviews about the rack not fitting. I strongly encourage you to make your selection based on the diameter of your pot’s interior versus the diameter of the rack (measured in inches and noted in product details), instead of based on the pot capacity (measured in quarts).

The description said this canning rack would not rust. Well, after one session of water bath canning some preserves, the rack has rust spots all over it. I can't find a cleaning solution to remove it.

Size across the top is 10 inches, or 25.5 cm. I have a smaller canner for pint jars, and it's a perfect fit for 7 jars (or six, if you want more space around them).

I purchased the 11.5qt rack and a 12qt Granite Ware pot, believing these would fit together. The rack has a large ring with hooks for the pot edge, but the ring doesn't fit inside the pot. Maybe if it was 1/4" smaller diameter, it would fit. 3/8" more like. To be clear, this does not fit the 12qt pot. Most of the cupola rests inside the pot, making it still useful for my needs.I haven't used it yet. I am expecting it to rust, as others have reviewed. I am not canning, but steaming refractory molds for lost wax method of casting jewelry. The rust won't hurt and I might just coat it first with a polyester powder coat to give it a little longer life.

I feel that the descriptionfor this item is unclear and confusing.It clearly fully describes the graniteware coatingleading me to believe this rack is coated BUT it is not! The wire rack itself is good and useful butI was expecting one that would not rust because it was coated with graniteware.The shipping was good. It arrived very quickly. I feel that the description should be changed to say it is made of metal and is not coated with graniteware.It is made by the Graniteware company.
