These strainers do work great for getting the scum off of soup as it's cooking, but I have also used them for straining out tea leaves and coffee grounds as well as the milk fat from melted butter when making clarified butter. I recently bought some whole grain flour and needed to sift out the bran in order to have all purpose flour and regular sifters are not fine enough mesh to do it so I used the large strainer spoon and it worked great as a do-fer until I can find a larger option. These strainer spoons are sturdy, well made and clean up easily.

These are well made stainless steel. Feel sturdy and works well to skim stews and poached meats. I often boil meat for my dogs and this takes the scum off the top of the water better than anything else I’ve tried. Glad it comes with 3 sizes, I cook a lot and can see this will be useful for soups and stews too.

Feels cool owning these bc of the different sizes, but I use them for fat skimming when canning broth and the fat gets all clunked up on them & is hard to remove. So then I spend time cleaning the skimmer. Didn't really fix the problem I intended them for, but that's not bc of the product, that's just the user. These are quite sturdy and well made. Good handle, good angle.

I use this to strain my broths , It's very very fine... to fine for things like cashew or almond milk (home made) as they won't drain. I'm curious to try in cheesemaking/yogurt making to strain extra whey in favor of a thicker yogurt. but they work really rally well for bone broths (12-24 long cook) I'm glad I purchased. The middle one first just enough to cover my mason jars so I ladle straight into there.
