I don't know what one of the tools was supposed to do, but the one with the two tightening screws was able to remove the inner tie rod from our Audi Q7 with minimal hassle.

The YanTone Universal (27-42mm) inner tie rod end multifunctional rudder wrench tool can come in handy, if you can slide this tool over the part that you wish to remove/install.This type of tool design grips tighter when more rotational force is applied to it. I chose to order the 1/2" drive multifunctional rudder version to see how it would compare to my Duralast 3/8" drive inner tie rod end tool (which looks like a heavy duty muffler clamp with teeth on the inner side of the U-bolt and clamp body). I included a photo in my review of my other tie rod wrench for your reference. This Yantone inner tie rod tool is made of a lighter weight material, thus I doubt that it will hold up as long as my Duralast inner tie rod tool. The 1/2" drive of the Yantone inner tie rod tool allows for torque application from a 1/2" breaker bar.I have to use a 1/2"-3/8" socket adapter with the Duralast inner tie rod tool in order to use my 1/2" breaker bar. This is a small advantage to the Yantone tool, but if you have a "quality" 1/2"-3/8" socket adapter you will not have any issues. The Yantone inner tie rod tool design has some pros and cons when compared to the Duralast inner tie rod tool design. The Yantone tool is basically one piece that you can slide onto the tie rod, while the Duralast tool you can preassemble and slide onto the inner tie rod OR assemble it in place directly over the inner tie rod.The pro to the Yantone tool design is that you do not need to tighten the clamp assemly in what is often found to be a very tight spaced working location. This can be an issue for the Duralast tool design depending upon the vehicle that you are working on.The con to the Yantone design is that you will have to disassemble/remove anything that is larger in diameter than it can slide over. The Duralast tool design does not have this issue since it can be assembled in place.I recommend the YanTone Universal (27-42mm) inner tie rod end multifunctional rudder wrench tool if you can slide it over the inner tie rod ends or other parts that you wish to remove/install.

I was really skeptical that this would work, but I was wrong. It’s awesome!

I used it getting 2 inner tie rods off and put 2 new ones back on... by the end of that job the tool was deformed and bent and barley usable for the last tie rod ... 3 stars cause for the price it was worth how easy it was to use and getting the job done ...
