Thick construction. Very good size for catching oil. Spout works well for pouring into 1 gallon jugs for disposal. Well worth the price.

It catch’s waste oil and pours easily when emptying it. Surprised it didn’t come in any sort of box or bag, it was literally just shipped as is with a label stuck to the bottom of it. Good size, works great.

After going through several oil pans from national chain stores all of which didn’t work immediately or eventually failed, I bought this one.The wide opening makes it easy to place under the drain plug and under the filter. When the oil goes from gushing to a trickle that the wind likes to fling all over the place, the wide opening makes it easier to deal with all of that. The spout made it easy to dump the used oil into empty jugs for storage/transport/recycling.For storage I wiped it out with rags and shoved a rag in the spout, then I put it in a trash bag on a shelf until it’s time for my next oil change. Some people complained about the sturdiness of the pan, my car takes over 5 quarts of oil and this pan was more than sturdy enough, it was more sturdy than the junk I previously purchased from the chain stores. One of the biggest headaches of my oil changes has been transporting oil for recycling. Other pans try to be all-in-one but every one of them has failed. This pan makes everything quick, clean and easy.

This pan and the no-spill pad that is sold separately together is a total game changer for DIY oil changers. No fuss and no mess.

Does what's it's designed to do. I use this when draining coolant, the only issues with the design is the lip around the edge is hard to clean inside and the spout is just about 1/8" larger than a standard bottle opening which makes pouring into an old washer fluid bottle difficult. If you're a mechanic in a shop that uses this everyday with a waste fluid drum these are not major concerns but could be an issue for the home mechanic.

I needed a large drain pan for my upcoming 50-hour service on my tractor. The trans fluid change would be about 5gallons. This drain pan is advertised at 4.5 gallons so along with the drain pan that I use for my car oil changes, this should do fine. Although the same pan is available from some of my local auto parts stores, this Amazon version is about the same price and delivery is free with Prime. The pan arrived and is sturdy enough to hold the fluid and is stiff enough that you can pick it up to drain the used fluids into buckets for transfer to the recycling center. The edges are smooth. I used a sharpie pen to write the capacity 4.5 gallons on the handle taking the guess work out when I go to use this drain pan on the next fluid change.

Used this to do an oil change on my car. The size and depth of this pan put my past pans to shame. Much less spillage than with past pans. Coupled this with an absorbent carpet and the only mess we made was from overfilling the waste oil. Rookie mistake but I haven't done an oil change myself in many years, I decided after the last one at the shop that $100 was too much to pay for an oil change.
