The idea is great but the product design is very poor. Quality of materials is very low, but at such a low price I would expect that. The problem is not the quality but the design of the press. The drill simply sits in a ring and there is no way to secure the drill to the press. As a result, you must hold the drill with your hand and apply downward pressure as you lower the drill. Otherwise it will simply fall right out of the press. Since you must hold the drill by hand, there is no way to ensure that it remains perfectly vertical, which is the whole purpose of a drill press. There is absolutely ZERO advantage to using this device over simply holding the drill by hand. In fact, this device make the job harder, not easier. This device is therefore, worse than useless

I used this with a temperature controlled soldering iron (with an adapter) to insert threaded brass inserts into my 3D printed parts. You can find the iron and the tip adapter and the brass inserts here on Amazon. If you look on Thingverse you can find a slip in adapter that will allow you to hold the soldering iron in place in this drill press stand. It works really well for this purpose. I could have also 3D printed the press but the cost for the already made metal one makes the purchase rather than print decision a no brainer.

As some have noted, they had a hard time discovering what kind of a power drill can actually fit and work with this. I too almost despaired but remembered an older 1/2' hammer drill I had with a collar that used a supplemental handle. The handle comes off and the collar fit exactly into this stand without the reducing inserts, actually perfectly. Since the hammer drill works as a regular drill also, it's fine. Almost a bit overpowering, but with the stand secured properly to a workbench, no sweat. My drill is a Chicago Electric from a place with Harbor in the name. But take a look at B09NN97PWG on Amazon to see what I mean about a drill with a collar - this is very similar to mine. Or perhaps B0B6H36K3L which looks to have a metal collar instead of plastic. I'm sure something in this class of drill would fit the stand. So for my random projects, this stand will be OK. If I wanted ultra precision, then I should just buy an expensive drill press - but I'm not a machinist or running a shop. So, no grumbling over an inexpensive investment.(Added Update) - after mounting to my workbench, it seemed to be a bit stiff and wonky going up and down. I had some clear silicone grease that I applied to both of the plated shafts that the main body rides up and down on. After that, the operation got reasonably smoother.

Well, wasn’t really impressed with quality and how small the hole was for the drill. Found an inexpensive drill that actually fits in the small mount. So I decided to keep the tool.

No directions. Does not guide drill to proper angle.

This works well and allows you to mount your portable drill on the stand. It doesn't come with any assembly instructions - just diagrams of the finished product. The stand is assembled using an allen wrench, the same wrench you use to adjust the height of the drill. There is a clip to hold the allen wrench but it kept falling out. It would be nice to have a working wrench clip and step by step assembly instructions.

Esta bien para la casa. No es nada fuerte. Suficiente para madera.

Too many parts to assemble for a basic stand. It’s not stable and need constant adjustment
