I ordered the "OEHPICC Needle Felting Kit, Plant Felt Kits for Beginners Adult, Wool Felting Kit with Felt Wool Balls, Felting Needles, Wool Felting Pad, Wool Roving, and Instructions for DIY Felting Starters."I'll start by saying that a beginner can do this, but I wouldn't suggest someone who has never felted before use this as their first kit. I'd try something smaller and less detailed for the first couple of projects before trying to tackle this felting kit. You'll still be a beginner at that point, but you'll have more of an idea of how to make the details.I can't critique the video, because I hate QR codes, but the color pictures and instructions that came with this kit were enough for me to figure things out.I love how many needles and accessories this kit includes. My other kits didn't come with the handle either, so that was nice. I also liked that they included a couple of finger covers to help keep your fingers safe, because I always manage to poke my finger when felting.

I ordered this to have something to work on while watching TV instead of being on my phone so much. I was able to get the first half done ok, but the leaves were kind of frustrating. This was the first time I'd attempted felting, though, so I'm certain it was just me and my lack of patience.

I got this kit because I love monstera plants, and have several. I also wanted to try it out to practice my color blending and gradients, since the leaves are variegated like a Thai Constellation cultivar. I'm a beginner but I've done some felting and I don't think this kit is technically a beginner level design other than the supplies included. The level of blending is pretty advanced, especially for those that aren't experienced with blending colors into a smooth gradient with any art medium. It's a lot harder than blending rosy cheeks on cute little solid-color animals. Now, the instruments included (and not included) are beginner, with a small pad and a single needle handle. The handle is fine and works well, however, poking leaves into shape let alone the detail work for smooth color transitions using a single needle with the handle provided is just inefficient. I used my 8 needle handle to create the shape of the leaves and to start blending the colors, and it went a lot faster...As far as what's not included, is that the printed directions say to blend the two provided greens into a solid dark green, and it's impossible without providing a set of carders to blend the colors into a new solid color. I ordered some to use on the next leaves I make. Instead, I simply pulled them both apart and kept swirling and mixing them until I had something that looked like monstera variegations though it was more like a golden pothos... Dark green with bright green variations. There is mention of videos for the instructions, but since I'm not a true beginner, I opted to follow the printed ones, which made sense to me so I can't comment on those. I also can't comment on the included pad to poke on, I have my own 10" x 10" wool pad I use. Though I can say one of our cats stole it and enjoyed using it for a kitty kicker while I was poking leaves.I think this is good practice, and I don't want beginners getting discouraged because their leaves aren't turning out the way the look in the finished photos in the product description or instructions. It's impossible without providing carders, and a multi-needle handle. I suggest getting those items too and it'll be a lot easier. I guess I'm more of an advanced beginner, and my finished plant will be a White Princess philodendron instead of a monstera. I know it's not going to look like the finished pic, and I'm OK with that, especially because monsteras and philodendrons are related plants. :)

Cute starter felting kit. The instuction and VDO are detailed and very helpful for a beginner. This kit is a big hit at my house. Good quality materials. This will make a great gift for craftlover of all skills!

Not for beginners! It does include everything you need if you have never done felting before but that doesn't mean this is an easy project. The kit supplies are decent quality and will get you started with this hobby. The pad is very small and difficult to work on, something larger is recommended. The balls provided are very helpful to get a nice consistent looking base and saves a lot of time and material. The stems and leaves are really difficult to do well, these parts use advanced level techniques that require some practice. I don't really understand the hang tag, I won't be using it. If you're looking for a fun activity this could get frustrating but if it's more about the doing and less about the results this will be enjoyable.

I really like the quality of the included products in this kit - the felting needles are great, and don't break easily like some other kits do. The inclusion of the felt balls was genius, and cut down on hours and hours of time. Needle felting is definitely not a fast hobby, it takes some time, but this kit lets you get a completed project much faster than others thanks to the included wool balls. I don't personally love the cream color in the leaves, but that's just personal preference. For someone just learning how to needle felt, this is a great kit that's made of quality items, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The tools included with this little set weren't quite as good as another that I picked up for my wife, but the bigger issue here is the project itself. While she made decent headway on some parts of this, others -- the leaves in particular, which have kind of a color gradient to them -- were giving her fits. She showed a friend who's more experienced and who told her not to get too frustrated, because some of the techniques involved really take a bit more experience than she had. So if you're looking for a set to give to someone who's new to the craft, just bear in mind that this one isn't as beginner-friendly as it claims to be.
