It works perfectly in my GE Cafe Range. The plug fits the inside jack properly. The oven also recognized it.I tested it and it reads the temp accurately. The probe is well made with a silicon cord cover.I can recommend this temp probe.

This probe arrived in a plastic bag and a protective cover over the needle. The cable length was very similar to the original probe for the oven, and the connector was a perfect match 1/4" phone plug. The overall probe length was also similar to the original. Unlike the original, this probe had a small narrowing at the tip. I'm not sure what effect the narrowing has on the temperature sensing but it did seem to make it easier to stab into a piece of raw meat.We used this probe on a GE PGB918SEM2SS oven to cook a roast. I put it into the roast as usual, set my oven temp, set the temp for the probe to stop cooking at 143F, and went away. The oven had no difficulty seeing that the probe was plugged in, and registered "Lo" as it always does before the reading is over about 100F.A little too early I heard the beeps from the oven saying probe indicated the roast had reached the final temperature. I used an instant-read thermometer to check the roast temperature, and it was 121... which was 22 degrees below target. This amount of error would result in unsafe food! I removed this probe and put the original one into the roast, and used it to finish cooking. The original probe worked correctly and the roast reached my desired temperature as verified with the same instant-read thermometer. We use our oven probe a lot, and I was really looking forward to having a spare available. I am disappointed that I cannot recommend this particular probe, as the error was profound. If it was only a couple of degrees off, I could manually adjust the planned temperature. But I don't think it makes any sense to key in 165 degrees when you want 143 degrees. Maybe it makes sense for folks who have lost or damaged their original probe?
