This cloth tape with mild adhesive on both sides is perfext for wrapping pipes, walking sticks, and tool handles to enhance grip. On my alpenstock (walking staff) i wrapped about 5" of the handle, nd found that my hand did attract a black grime for the first several hikes, but worn in, now my hand stays clean and though not sticky, the tape still provides grip.Another use is on my lawn tractor front bumper (troy-bilt/MTD), the rubber end caps slipped off exposing a sharp edge shin high. A few wraps of friction tape on the metal pipe really help the end caps stay on. a few wraps of electrical tape on the outside overlapping finish the repair. Electrical tape alone did not work previously for a few sets of end caps. This friction tape solved a recurring problem.

Real friction tape like in the old days isn't easy to find anymore. I've bought numerous rolls claiming to be friction tape but that don't have the same grippyness, stickiness, and toughness that it's supposed to have. This stuff is the real deal. And it smells delicious.

Tape worked as expected. The only thing that I did not find in any of the reviews or descriptions is the smell of the tape. The tape has a chemical smell that you need to be aware of. Depending on how and where you plan on using it, the smell may be a factor. Also, the tape will leave black marks. Looking at similar tapes in other stores (they were 2 x $), many did not have the same odor that this tape comes with.

Adhesive wasn’t as sticky as expected however tape stays in place. A black residue leaches off for some time. Tape works as described, just “messy†to use.

Not a sticky tape as I expected. However, it worked wonders for my project. I had purchased a shoe rack with zero friction. The heavier shoes would slide right off at the slightest touch. So I wraped a small piece of the protape at the base, and perfection. You can shake the rack quite heavily and the shoes (including steel toe work boots) stay in place.

If you're looking for a "bmw friction tape" replacement.....this stuff is not for you. First off the adhesive on this roll smells horrible..hahaha.its a very strong new shoe type smell. The friction side of the tape is adhesive or "sticky" also. I don't like that. Unlike the BMW tape that has somewhat a gritty/grip tape feel to the top of the tape. Basically only one side of the tape should be adhesive with friction tape while this roll of tape the entire top and bottom piece of tape is sticky...

I was reading the internet on replacing the rubber bands on a shop BAN SAW and found a few guys had used this in place of the (somewhat) expensive rubber replacements. Every Ban saw belt I priced that would fit was in the $20.00 range and they really didn't have good reviews. I used this on our older model in place of the manufactured wheel band and it works like a champ!! All you have to do is clean it real good, brass or steel brush it and use some alcohol or acetone and let dry. Be sure to wrap it in the direction, with the grain, so to speak, so it won't catch when it running and gets warmed up (hope this helps). Fast shipping, no issues with these folks.
