This was to replace a very similar mail slot that was NOT solid brass and after about a year in the San Francisco weather, had rusted. So glad to have replaced it with this solid brass mail slot in satin nickel. Looks great and is rust free. Highly recommend.

The hinge broke on my mail slot cover on my front door. This is an exact replacement for the slot in the door. It seems to be exactly like the original, which is some decades old. So it should hold up well.

when installed, at the opening, the edge leans into home a little leaving an edge that the mail might hit. I used some epoxy to smooth out the door hole and fill the pocket. Easy install for someone handy.

I like the looks of the mail slot and it was easy to install but the spring is not attached to anything and looks flimsy compared to the replaced mail slot fixture. If the spring worked I would rate it 5 stars. The picture shows the spring but have to look closely to see it.

Das Produkt an sich ist gut, aber nicht geeignet für direkte Montage auf die Mauer, da für die Feder ein Hohlraum sein muss. Der Rahmenfalz müsste größer sein.

I like the way it looks and we never have to worry about mail when we travel.Wish I would of thought about it a long time ago instead of bothering neighbors to get our mail while away.
