This is comfortable. And it is actually cool for the first couple of minutes. Then it changes to whatever temperature your back is because it is not refrigerated, just cool. Two things you realize after installing it - most cars have bucket seats, so this means that the strap that holds it to the seat can only do so much to keep it in place. The poofy areas on the sides of the back of your seat will keep it out a little. That's no fault of the product, but it would be different if your seat had a back that was just flat. So this means that you have to kind of slide into it when you are getting in the car. Otherwise, it is easy to snag it and you end up sitting on it instead of against it. I solved this by getting a full seat cover. The elastic of the seat cover keeps it sucked into the back of the seat a lot better. The second thing you should know is that when it is cold out, say 20 - 40 degrees F, sitting against this is at first like sitting against a cube of butter. It firms up in the cold. This only lasts for a few minutes before a little warm-up relaxes the gel and it squishes to a more comfortable shape. This doesn't bother me but I just wanted to pass that on. If you don't like the idea of that, avoid the pillows that have gel. Personally, I like that. It is like a little extra pressure on my lumbar before relaxing to a more natural shape.

I use this on my couch, great support and when I use ice pack after it’s gone the pillow is still cool. Very durable

My car's seats don't seem to have proper lumbar support, so my back hurts if I sit in the car for more than an hour or so. This pillow makes it much better.I do need to adjust it every time I get into the car, so I wish it was a little better at staying in place.

I had mine for five years, and loved how it fit. Worked great, especially in my last car, which had uncomfortable seats for long-term driving. Limitations included the strap not reaching all the way around my bucket seat, so I had to flip it upright before I got in - not a big deal to me. When it was below freezing the pillow started out hard, but quickly melted to me (I actually liked this). When it was very hot out the pillow started out hot, no cooling effect, but again, I surprised myself by liking that for some reason (like a heating pad that made the rest of me cooler? Idk, it was a weird effect that I can’t explain). I kept this in the car year-round in southern Missouri and throughout road-trips to Florida and south Texas, but last summer (2024) I managed to reach the limit of how hot it could get before it ruined the cushion. The gel ruptured and now sticks to whatever touches the pillow (it does stain). User error, not a fault of the pillow, so I’m definitely replacing it with the same model. I might just bring it inside during August!

The cushion itself is fine. It provides the support I need. The problem I have is that the part of it that has cooling gel in it retains heat. It gets really uncomfortable.

This is great product. It stays in position on the chair. Others have slid down and always have to be pulled back up. There is nothing negative to be said. because of the gel there is no sweating or dampness.

If it had 2 straps (top & bottom) it would be perfect. Unfortunately, the single strap isn’t enough to keep it exactly in place.However, it’s not the biggest deal to reposition so I’ll still give it 4 stars, because it’s very comfortable and the cooling gell works well in the summer!
