Perfect hedge trimmer for a large yard. I didn’t want the hassle of a gas powered trimmer, and pulling 100ft of cord around the yard was getting old. This battery powered trimmer has plenty of power and the charge lasts for a long time. It’s a solid build and well balanced. I have the Skil leaf blower as well, having a pair of batteries pretty much covers any yard task.

Fairly light weight, cuts well, not too loud, battery lasts quite awhile. I know those are vague descriptions, but overall are accurate.I have two SKIL 40V blowers, one SKIL 40V 14" string trimmer, and this SKIL 40V hedge trimmer... I have been pleased with the performance of all of them. I have had the one blower for two years before I purchased the other 40V tools.The only complaint: I did purchase (from Amazom SKIL Store) a SKIL 40V string trimmer, battery, and charger kit, but it came to me used and damaged. I sent it back for a refund and went to Lowe's and purchased the 14" string trimmer kit there.

This 40V line of Skil power tools is impressive for the money. I was considering other brands, but this was one of the few that offers a brushless motor. The charger, battery and tool itself are top notch quality and deliver good power. I am impressed with the battery life as I can use this on a big job and still have plenty of battery life left over. I get tired after an hour of trimming and this still has more than half charge. The blades are sharp and I lubricate with some silicone spray before and after each use. On some finer shrubs, I was able to jam the blades once though. This can happen if you get enough particle mass in between the blades to lock up the blade action. Be careful when removing the particles by disconnecting the battery. Coming from 2 cycle gas, this is a nice replacement. For the convenience, it is easy to use regularly to keep bushes tidy. Thanks to high gas prices, this becomes an easier option on the wallet.

What a great tool!!! This Skil Hedge Trimmer is cordless, not heavy to use… and has a 24“ cutting bar. II used it well above my head and it was easy to use (with little rests in between) for a long trimming session.I charged the battery fully before using and the trimmer/battery lasted well over an hour sith heavy duty cutting.The charger works fast and has an easy to see charge level. This is such a great trimmer, but I eish I would have found it sooner. This one is the best I ever had!

I bought these because I have a Skil battery mower. They are excellent trimmers and the battery lasts a long time. If you have other battery powered tools from another company, stick with them so you can share batteries. But, consider these if you're not locked into another ecosystem. Now, I'm waiting for snow to try my Skil snowblower.

This hedge trimmer is amazing. It's cuts my bushes without any effort. It's lightweight and easy to handle. The quality of this product is outstanding
