Should have known this years ago. Fast removal of fat in stews, soups, or gravy prep. Easy when you cannot completely strain all the ingredients out. You just scoop the surface a few times, the fat surfaces and you discard it. Very easy.

It looks like it should work fine, however, because the spout is at the same level as the rest of the ladle the fat just poured over the side and didn’t make it even a tad easier that what I had been doing all along.

It’s a nice concept. Got one for my mom and worked ok. Then I got this one for myself and it came defected. Even I can have it replaced but it’s shows the lack of QC of this item.

So- the categories don’t reflect how good the product works for it’s intended purpose. For skimming oil...it didn’t do the job.
