I used these to reinforce the join between two pieces of a desk surface after swapping to a less-supportive frame, and they did the job. It ended up slightly messy, but that's entirely owing to my unwillingness to unload the desk and find a second person to help me flip it upside down so I could do this the easy way. Instead I got under the desk and drilled upwards, with all the difficulties involved.

These straps are all they claim to be. They are 3mm thick, and very high quality steel, so if you need to drill through an existing hole for a larger diameter bolt, allow some time--my titanium drill bits had some difficulty getting through them. That said, I used them to hang an exhaust system on a vintage car restoration I am doing and I could not be happier with their performance.

I bought a metal gate to use outside of front door so my 4 legged furr babies could greet company without having access to neighborhood. It worked great until I realized it was not very stable so I ordered these brackets to add more strength, other than having to purchase sheet metal screws they worked and are working great. I put brackets on both sides. My furr babies enjoy their freedom and I love keeping them safe.

I have used a number of these plates as earthquake anchors for home furniture and installed cabinets. I like that they are not so dang hard that they can't be (1) "customized" (holes drilled larger for chain links and stainless steel cable) and fitted (bent to conform to needed shape).These come in a variety of sizes. I've only gotten the 6" items.

The plates themselves are heavy and seem to be good quality so far. The problem is the screws... I put these out 2 weeks ago and the screw heads are already rusting. So, now I have to buy new screws and change out 150+ screws. If you’re using the plates outside, I’d recommend just buying good screws from the start.
