I have to admit that I abuse my tools. This one has been living outside in all weather for years and I still reach for it first whenever I have to turn over a lot of soil. Using it as a pry bar to unearth large deep chunks of limestone has managed to slightly bend a couple of tines, but it doesn't hurt the function at all. I would never have expected this to so far outperform the super expensive heritage brand one that is currently waiting for me to replace the broken wooden handle.Over the years I have found gardening forks are better for almost every task than a shovel. It can dig deep even in moderately rock ground, so long as there's not huge stones. In highly compacted soil the multiple small points punch through resistance far better than a shovel edge cuts. And speaking of cutting, you are far less likely to kill an earthworm. I don't need another one, but it is standing the test of time so well that this may be a treasure someone finds at my estate sale. If any else I know ever shows a real interest in gardening, I will finally have a good excuse to purchase another.

I had a garden fork from Home Depot with bent tines from getting snagged on roots. Bought this and do not regret it. The times are thick steel fingers welded to the shaft as opposed to being clamped like the HD version. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Digs into packed dirt with ease and turns it over easily. Well worth the price.

Just a bit short for me but then, I’m sort of tall. This is a great little fork and I’m sure I’ll use it for a good, long time. Huge help in my equally small garden.

Good Value but not completely indestructible to a large man

I am quite small 5'4 and under 120lbs and I can use this pitch fork all day long without it getting too heavy. It is heavy duty and very useful for many things including helping to dig up lawn and moving piles of leaves. I wouldn't mind if the handle were a little longer but that's my only gripe. I highly recommend this tool.

Very strong and solid. Really super heavy duty like the description says. I am using it for mt compost bin and it it works great.

Look a bit basic with welded construction but these are tough. Hope I don’t need to buy again but I’d get another if I needed to.

I have broken half a dozen spading forks in my lifetime; generally the tough soil tearing the metal fork off of a wooden shaft when I ask too much of it when it is a little older. I have high hopes that it will be impossible to do this with the fork and shaft being one piece apparently with only the D-handle attached (permanently) at the other end of the shaft. I am not one to baby my tools so this will not be brought inside every time I use it; time will tell if it rusts any faster than prior wrought iron but unlikely. Only true issue noted so far: it is of course heavier than wooden shaft tools. I am tempted if Tabor has them to get a steel shaft (one piece?) rake since my current one is wobbling on he end of the shaft; however with the longer handle it might be too heavy for me to carry around the yard! However the weight of the fork helps as I don't need to jump on it to get it into our thick clay here as with the older one I have retired.
