So it needs to be said that this tool is specifically made for fishing. As such, it may not be suitable for tasks that are outside of that endeavor. There are some aspects to the design of this tool that many would see as drawbacks if it were used like standard needle nosed pliers.As a fishing tool, this thing is pretty nice. It's lightweight and pretty ergonomic (comfortable to hold and use). Aluminum construction means it should never rust. The grips are nice, movement is smooth, and the fishing-specific functions are spot-on. Like many needle-nosed pliers, these don't really open up very far. But for most tasks related to fishing, this isn't an issue.The little tooth at the end, which is meant for opening split rings, may not work as well for the really small ones. I also have a couple of panfish crankbaits that have really small eyes, and it's a little bit of work to adjust those with this tool. But, that's not the tool's fault. These are super tiny baits I'm talking about here. Also, the presence of the split-ring tooth prevents the tool from being used as 'normal' needle nosed pliers, because you can't hold things flush at the end. Again, this shouldn't be an issue since this is meant to be a fishing-specific tool. Just FYI so that you're aware this isn't really a general purpose item. It should also be noted that the split-ring tooth can get in the way if you're trying to remove a deeply-embedded hook from a fish.The line clipper is great, and the blades are replaceable - or, at the very least, you can remove them to try and sharpen them if you need to. (I kind of doubt that by the time these need replacing, that you'll be able to find a replacement part.)So, the tool itself is great. The extra attachments, however, were total junk. I got the version that came with the retractable belt clip and the plastic spring-chain thingy. Neither one offers enough resistance against the weight of the tool. The belt clip can't fully retract with the pliers on it, and it's actually pretty short - maybe just 2 feet in all. As for the other attachment, the spring chain droops about 7 inches past my knee with the pliers on it. I have something else already to use with the tool, so these two attachments will be repurposed for other things. It would be far better to offer a holster instead of these cheap, weak attachments.TLDR:Tool is great and performs well for its intended use. Probably not suitable as a general-purpose tool. Quality construction and ergonomic design. Includes several features not found on regular needle nosed pliers that are very helpful when fishing. Don't bother getting the version with the attachments, unless they introduce a version with a holster. Until then, just get the tool itself.Would recommend and/or purchase again, but not with the attachments.

Used it for a while now in saltwater and don't notice any corrosion. Works great even when the fish swallows the hook. Great for keeping you hand away from the mouth of a shark while trying to get the hook out of it's lip. Lightweight, strong, and comfortable in the hand.

These are nice enough pliers, but if you’re looking for a true split-ring capable plier don’t bother. These might help with the large split-rings on your car keys, but the tip isn’t machined fine enough for split-rings on normal freshwater crankbaits and is worthless on smaller trout and panfish sized baits. I’ve tried several sizes and it does not work well. Maybe I received a defective pair. The action is smooth enough, the cutters will cut braid cleanly, and they sure do look pretty. Form over function it seems. But with a blunted tip, these just aren’t as functional as the old pair of Rapala pliers I was intending to replace. Tempting to file down the tip, but then the corrosion resistant coating would be compromised. Wish I had bought the straight pair instead of split-ring version.
