Oboe tone repair and maintenance
1. Before playing, first soaked in water reed, soak water should not exceed place tie line.
2. Keep the cleaning, after playing finished, should with a soft feather soaked in water and scrub the inside of the pipe whistle reed.
3. Reeds in playing after some time will feel uncomfortable, if it is hush is too small, you can uhin copper wire between the position and the vibrating section wrapped around the line (the lower point place) reinforcement.
4. If it is blowing more rigid, bad vibrations, in addition to cleaning of reeds outside knife can be used to repair the vibrating portion to pronounce portion scuffing (note part of the center pillar portion not scrape excessive vibration)
5. If you feel the sound brighter, you can trim both sides of the (when the attention of the knife to repair the repair side, and to make the slope type, in the middle to both sides from thick to thin)

Didn’t work, they all have cracks in the reeds. Can’t even use

Taking one of these reeds out of the package - soaking and inerting into your oboe and preparing to play will not likely produce the tone youre looking for unless you have the ability to create 75lbs of pressure in your embouchure. However you can obtain the knowledge on how to shape / shave oboe reeds online ( youtube ) and with some practice learn how to shape these and any other reeds to your own tastes and playing preferences. I would imagine this is true with any mass produced brand of oboe reed as I have YET to find any producer - retail or online where you buy the reed , soak it and play it ... doesnt exist for oboe players simply because everyone is different and will require a different shaving of the reed surfaces and throating of the reed to match the player , performance type or skill level.So bottom line - these are very inexpensive but will require shaping just as any other reed probably will . Make sense ?
