It took me a long time and a lot of money to find my "go to" grinding consumables. The products I settled on and keep stocked in my shop are yellow and black and everyone knows D'name. I don't bleed back and yellow, my shop is filled with which ever tool has proven itself to be cost effective.With that said, I wasn't expecting much out of these disks when I decided to try them out. To my pleasant surprise they have held their own up against my usual disks. They have equaled the more expensive product in quality of the surface prepped, and life span.Of course, this is not enough for me ditch my old brand and switch, that would be stupid. I am however going to explore more of what Whitby and others have to offer and give them a chance to convince me they can deliver consistent quality at a more affordable price. I say "others" because I have come across another so called "off brand" of cutting wheels, that have blown the black and yellow ones out of the water. And I am going to review them next.

These zirconia ceramic flap discs last a bit longer than the regular cheapo zirconia aluminum ones, so if you're looking to extend the life of your consumables this is definitely the type to go for. I do find it a little odd that these ones I received are 4" instead of 4-1/2" discs, but they do clear my grinder guards a little better than some of my 4-1/2" ones so maybe that's a plus. That 1/2" is not a big deal really. Good bang for the buck. The curved edges on these are nice to work with.

First of all, I have no idea what the bullseye targets in the box are for -- you can see in the middle of my photo.Anyway, as far as the discs themselves are concerned, they sand pretty well for the money but show more wear than "name-brand" discs that I bought at the hardware stores (and yes, those discs cost more money, but are better discs, so I guess it all evens out.)Photo shows it sanding a rusted railroad spike. It chews good, but like I said, the disc shows more wear than other name-brand flapper discs that I have used.Overall, I would say they are a "fair deal" for the price. Just dont expect them to last as long as more expensive discs.

These are pretty good. Be aware, they are 4†so they are a bit smaller than a standard 4.5â€. They are zirconia so they have a longer life on metal than aluminum oxide, but they are not a high density flap disc so they will still wear fairly quick. These are best used for weld or corner cleanup and get a high density disc for heavy material removal.Overall, for he cost these work good, as long as you know what and where to use them. Good to have on hand for little cleanup work.

This disc makes it easy to get into 90-degree corners. It removes the material quickly.I used it to remove paint off a bunch of 90-degree angle irons, and it worked flawlessly. I did not have to apply much pressure, and the disc lasted without significant wear.If you plan on removing paint or rust from anything, I would get these.Great product.
