- OPTIMUM OPERATION
Indicates fuel consumption, heat output is more efficient. The operating temperature for most wood stoves is between 300°F and 650°F.
- CREOSOTE
Indicates the temp is too low, which will cause creosote and tar to deposit on the stove and chimney. Temperatures below 300°F will create a dirty, smoky fire that leads to creosote buildup in your chimney.
- TOO HOT
Indicates that the temp is too high and there is a risk of damaging the stove/furnace fan/chimney. A temperature above 650°F consumes more wood without additional room heat as more energy is lost up the stove pipe.
Easy to read with larger dial.
Our stove pipe thermometer adopts a larger 3.34in/8.5cm diameter dial, which is easier to read the temperature than the ordinary 2.5in little circular thermometer, you can easily see it even from a long distance.

The back of the stove thermometer has a strong magnet that can be easily attached to the top or side of the stove, or on the single wall flue.

I have used these for years on my wood stove. When I went to get a new one for a friendsstove, I noticed that some of the newer brands are making the rating of the temps lower! as to what is too hot or not! Good grief! The stove needs to burn at a certain high tempfor a short time at least to help clear the soot out of the chimney. If you make the high tempa too high one, then this wont get done. I always watch it in the red and leave it just near the borderor above for a short time , unless I am cleaning soot, or cooking,,, then I am right there using it for cooking and you need it in the red!

It seems to work fine. I'm shocked it doesn't melt. Just appears to be plastic, and I think from testing it against a Lazer thermometer, runs a little low. Overall satisfied.

This item appears to work properly, but the paint completely came off after two weeks so now it’s on thermometer with no face I will not be buying another one of these

I like that I can see from a distance if the stove is cooling down and needs more wood, it seems to work well. I wish I had bought this like 10 years ago !!!

These are great! I did't think we would use all 3 but we have one on the flue and the others are on different parts of the stove. The colours make the dials easy to read from a distance.

What can I say? Does what it says it supposed to do. Bought this as I though my stove might be over hot but since I've had this it is showing me that I'm in the green zone all the time (apart from being in the yellow while it gets going)

Franchement, ça donne un bon aperçu du suivi de la combustion. Je pense que nous étions trop bas auparavant et devions fabrique de la creosote trop souvent. La photo est en fin de combustion mais généralement on est au centre de la zone verte.
