Zoeller Pump Company’s Model 98 Sump Pumps can offer protection and prevent flooding after heavy rainfall or storms. Underneath your structure, pits collect water. If the water level reaches a certain point, automatic or manual settings on the machine can efficiently pump that water away from your property’s foundation. How often the pump runs depends on the amount of moisture in the space. A corrosion-resistant finish over cast iron construction provides incredible strength and durability, and stainless steel screws assembling the seal, arm, handle, and guard stave off rust. The pump uses a 1 ½-inch discharge pipe and can pass spherical solids up to ½ inch in diameter. The lack of screen keeps the unit running smoothly. We offer accessories such as alarm systems with simplex or duplex control panels designed to keep you informed about your sump pump’s water level. The alarm gives you peace of mind that your pump is operating as intended.

I bought this in December of 2014 for my basement. I m writing this review after 10 years of use. This pump is still working perfectly. Don't look anywhere else, if you want a quality sump pump.

I ordered this pump because it was an exact replacement for my existing pump. The original pump lasted 22 years. Since it was an exact replacement installation took about 10 minutes.

We have a very high water table at our home with the sump pump going off every 10 minutes or so. I’ve used multiples of this pump over the years and have been very happy. In fact, I try to keep an extra pump around so I always have a replacement.

Bought a new house. Inspector flagged the sump pump as having a faulty float valve and generally looking tired. Sure enough, less than 6 months in the house and the old pump seized and popped a breaker.When my inspector flagged this issue back in the fall, he recommended a Zoeller for a replacement. So I jumped on Amazon and grabbed this one. My inspector has seen hundreds of properties, and he has lots of experience. When he recommends a brand, I almost always go with his suggestion. Based on the review for this item, sounds like everyone agrees that Zoeller is quality.For what it's worth, I replaced an Everbilt, which is not much cheaper, but definitely seems like a much lower quality.Thankfully, I was able to use all of the existing parts. It took some effort to clean up the PVC threads from the old sump, and then I added some pipe dope for good measure.Per the instructions, I added a 3/16 hole to prevent air lock issues. MY PIECE OF ADVICE - drill the hole pretty close to the threading, and angle it downward. My first hole (which I patched) was inside my crock, but not angled down enough and too high. The first time the pump ran, it shot water everywhere as the pressurized stream from the air hole hit the side of the crock and splattered. Patched the hole, pulled the pump, and drilled a fresh, lower, and better angled hole. Still a little splatter, but it's fine with the sump lid on.My only complaint - the item arrived having previously been opened, but, as far as I can tell, unused. I'm guess this was an Amazon return that Amazon decided was good enough to sell new again. It looks like someone got this item, opened the box, determined, for whatever reason, they didn't want it, and then sent it back. That being the case, I was comfortable with keeping and installing what I received. Happy to not create unnecessary costs with a replacement request. (Good for ole planet earth too).Anyways, 5 out of 5. Can't speak to longevity from personal experience, but very pleased so far!

Supper easy to install. Built like a tank. Pumps a huge volume of water very quickly. Have had it now through three heavy storms and it does its job really well. It is also much quiter than my last sump. To the point I went down and made sure it was working. My old one you could definitely hear it downstairs turning on. This on is much quieter.

This is a heavy duty pump. Strong action pumps out the sump in seconds. The rush of the water leaving makes more noise than the pump itself.

This pump feels solid constructed, have it for 4 months and it works ok, don't think is worth the extra lot of money compare to wother brands with same build quality. Its noisier than my old one and as more vibration and more water hammer noise. If you have a bedroom close where this pump is installed then you should look for something else.
