I bought this fan for an outdoor shed over a year ago, and it’s been working great ever since, even in the cold weather here in the Northeast. I’m honestly surprised by how well this little fan performs. It’s durable, reliable, and continues to do the job despite the challenging conditions. Very impressed!

AC Infinity makes the highest quality fans available. No loud whirling and whizzing, just spinning blades and moving air. If you're someone who hesitates buying muffin fans because of your rich experience with the junk that cooled the cheap power supplies of box-store home computers, you're in luck. This company builds the Rolls Royce of cooling fans and it will most assuredly shift your paradigm.

I received this fan for the purpose of cooling my enclosed entertainment center. It had been getting very hot and was beginning to cause problems with my electronics inside. I was able to cut a hole in my back wall and install this fan without a problem. The screws contained inside are quite long to accommodate different thicknesses of wood. I could probably cut them shorter now that it is installed, but I have not yet since it's hidden behind my entertainment center. The fan does include a speed control, but I believe it's simply controlling the voltage to the fan. There are only two wires connecting to the fan, not a third for speed control. It works well, except you cannot use half of the dial as the voltage gets too low to spin the fan. It is extremely quiet when set to about half to 2/3s speed. Up to about 3/4 speed is acceptable if you have noise elsewhere in the room (Air condition units, fans, music playing, etc) but is noticeable in a quiet room. Full speed is loud in a quiet room, but is easily disguised by the sound of the television or music. I usually keep it around 3/4 speed and it has kept the electronics at room temperature and pulls all the heat out very efficiently.

Very easy install. Bought it to more heat from one room to unheated area. For such a small fan it, really moves the heated air. Highly pleased with my purchase.

This is my first time buying on amazon, and I was a little hesitant to make the purchase. I am so glad I did buy it from here as the quality of this fan is better than what I originally expected it to be. The fan is quiet as many have said in the reviews, and the performance of airflow, they do deliver what I need to cool down my laptop. I am content with this purchase, it is something that is functional for me, but it doesn’t go with any of my stuff because it is more on the manly side. I wish they had a different version with white maybe, and that will be a good alternative for those that don’t want it in black. I love the fan, but hate the fact I cannot get a different color. Good performance and quiet though.

Some reviewer's experience might be based on an earlier version: I bought the 120mm fan (as shown on Amazon) and it is both quiet at lower speeds and it "moves air" all the way down the dial.In general 'Muffin' fans have three qualities: air movement, noise and cost. (In the specs: CFM, Sones and $$.) You can pick 2 of the 3 for a certain size fan--this one is 120mm square. To move a lot of air, the fan has to turn fast and that makes for more noise, so to get a quieter fan it will cost more because the 'noise' comes from the quality of the blades and housing. The science of fan design ('propeller') is pretty well documented based on both fans and aircraft starting over 100 years ago. The cental principle is that air resistance varies with the square of speed. Just ask a bike rider. In a fan, it is the speed of the air over the blades as they turn. This makes the volume of air moved non-linear as the RPM increases. A fan at low speed will move more air PER REVOLUTION than it will at high speed. The noise also increases as the fan turns at a higher RPM because of the non-linear air resistance and it will take disproportionally more power as well. Now to the fan controller. Just based on turning the knob and feeing the breeze, it is true that the 'top-third' of the dial makes less difference in air movement than does the bottom third. Whether the fan is pushing air into an encosure or pulling it out can make a difference based again on air resistance. Restricting the inlet side of a fan is more likely to reduce the amount of air moved than restricting the output. Here is an open question for the manufacturer: does the comment in the listing about "noise" relate to sound or electrical interference? Hmmm . . .

AC Infinity provides everything one need for most mounting scenarios and everything is packaged in a manner that prevents any damage to the fan during shipping. The fan is fairly quiet, but not silent... in addition to a small amount of noise of moving air (unavoidable if one actually wants to move any significant amount of air with a very small fan), there is a slight buzzing due, as others have posted out, to the nature of th speed control. Overall, the operation is quite quiet. A lot depends on how and where you mount the fan.I used my fan to provide quiet exhaust for a cat litter box and lounge closet; continually running near lowest speed , it provides effective ventilation with little noise. I used flexible aluminum dryer vent tube to exhaust the air into the attic. First, I tried a rigid 4" plastic drain pipe, but the fan and pipe created a musical instrument with resonant frequency being loud and bothersome. The non-rigid dryer vent tube eliminated this problem.

This is the forth AC INFINITY fan I have ordered but the first with the speed controller , the fan itself works great as always but the controller could have a better range , by that I mean that you have to set the controller to the max setting and then turn it down to your desired speed but if you go down below 50% speed the fan will struggle to keep a constant speed as it will slow down to almost stall and then speed up again but that is the nature of these controllers if you need better speed control you need to get Variac Transformer but those are expensive so overall for the price of this unit it's good but not great for speed control , also if you have this fan on a timer you will have to go through the above process all over again .

For the price of $35, this is a very nice unit. Solid build. A simple manual spin of the fan blade reveals a well balanced bushing. It is the only one I could find with a variable speed control.

Ok fan but does not move air very well. Who sells something that you have to assemble now days

So easy to install and use. I use it for my gas fireplace. The unit is plugged into an electrical box that turns on with a light switch, so this device is perfect for what I need it for. Price point is perfect.
