What I like most is that I can cut a wide variety of sizes quickly and neatly. It is a little difficult to clean but once I got the hang of it, it was efficient. This is my second one.

I ordered this to cut slices off of blocks of cheese as many varieties do not come pre-sliced and those that do are typically less expensive if you slice them yourself.This has worked well on blocks of cheddar and pepper jack. However, the wire bent pretty badly on my second attempt to cut manchego (a harder cheese). The cutting block and slot for the wire were still useful when I grabbed a knife so I could easily cut off as much as I wanted (using the slot as a guide), but the wire wasn't cut out for it (no pun intended).If you primarily eat soft cheeses, this slicer should work quite well for you.

Very attractive and just the right size for my purpose. The first slicing wire only lasted through one block of cheese. It was nearly impossible to get the replacement wire onto the slicing arm. There isn't sufficient room to easily "thread" the loop on the pivotal end of the arm. By the time I got the wire on, it was too loose to be functional. It's going in the thrift shop donation pile. It is a big disappointment and I feel really bad about having to spend more money to replace it. Great idea but poorly designed.

It is super easy to use, looks sleek and modern. I absolutely loved using this for the first month or so. But I had to replace the wire sooner than I expected. After a month I put on the new wire, but then within a week the new wire got loose. It is hard to use when the wire is loose. As long as the wire is tight, it works beautifully. Basically the design is great, but it's not very durable for long term use.
