More valuable information:

1. What is dimension of the big clear housing?

ANSWER: It is standard sized housing for 4.5"OD x 20" height filters .

2. What is in the box?

ANSWER: 1 x 20inch big CLEAR housing with pressure release , 1 x plastic wrench ,1 x metal brackek and 1 x screw.

3.What is filters options?

ANSWER:1).PP spun filter, Remove sand, dirt, sediment. life time:6 months.

2).Carbon block filter, Further remove chlorine, taste & odors, very fine particulates. life time:6 months. PS.The Life Time of the Filter Cartridge Depends on Usage Amount and Feed Water Quality.

Note:

1. Please lubricate the o-ring with silicon grease and use wrench provided to prevent leakage. you may search "whole house water filter " on YouTube, there is some video about this housing, it is very helpful if it is the first time to install it.

2. Protect filter housing from freezing.

3. This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 80 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 60 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating.it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 50 psi or less.

4. The rubber o-ring provides the water tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE of a water leak could occur. below is more options for matched filter cartridges and similar size housing:

Get fat teflon tape and use a lot of it. Don't bother with compound, or use both tape and compound. The pipe threads are cut kinda liberally, so they leak easily if you don't use enough tape or don't tighten the fittings enough. Compound alone allows leaks to sneak through. I also had a problem where the valve on top would leak water, but they stopped leaking, so no problem. I believe they're designed to purge air from the system. I think they just needed to seat properly under pressure. When I say "leak", I mean a drip every few minutes, but like I said, they all stopped, so probably normal.

It would have been nice if I knew to use some silicon grease on the rubber ring. The first time I tried to use it, it leaked, but that was because the lack of grease. After putting on a dab, it mounted easier and sealed really well.

Installed and had no leaks. One day later the female fitting on the inlet cracked and started leaking.

Overall, the filter housings are very heavy duty and nice. However, the brass inserts in the head of the units must not be pressed in square. I bought four of these units and put them together with Heavy duty 1"x1" stainless steel hex pipe nipples. These pipe nipples were very short and strong so they did not contribute to the problem. After assembly the four housings ended up in an arc that resembled teeth in a jack-o-lantern. This exacerbated the next problem with the mounting brackets. The holes in the bracket intended to mount them to he wall are up behind the housing head and can't be accessed if you mount the filter first. The bracket has to be mounted to the wall first. Since the housing were not in a straight line after assembly this made mounting the bracket in the right location almost impossible to line up with the mounting holes for the top of the filters. I ended up having to mount them to a section of treated 2x8 lumber down on the ground, averaging out the arc to try and get them straight and then lifted them all together and anchored the wood to the cement block wall. Quite and ordeal that didn't have to happen if they had first, pressed in the pipe bushing square into the housing and secondly designed the mounting brackets so the the wall mounting holes were accessible below the bottom of the filter housing head. The third problem came when filling the housings. The water was too heavy for the brackets and they sagged down so that the bottom of the filter housings were almost against the wall. They are much too thin o support the weight. They need to be about twice as thick as they are! So in the grand scheme of things, I like the clear housings so I can see the state of my filters, which I think is important for well water and I would buy them again. To help eliminate some of the problems, I would space them out further and use PVC pipe with threaded adapters to allow them to flex slightly, allowing them to be mounted in a straight line. The only thing I can think of to help prevent the sag of the mounting brackets is to mount another board near the bottom to prevent it from angling in toward the wall. he manufacturer should really re-design those for a proper fix that reduces the likely hood of them breaking off a pipe and flooding the house!

I like the size "20"x4.5" for whole house. If you want to clean tap water decently for drinking then you can add the 3 typical filters used for reverse osmosis and then add the membrane, post filters and tank under the sink. I think you can still work it that way, but the whole house would be more sediment free and decently drinkable more then i'd say straight from the city pipes type water which i still think have aftertastes like when we were kids and drank water from a hose lol. So i think most of these will be installed where your hot water tank is as that's usually where the main water supply comes into the house first. I'm using it with a, i'll call it a de-mineralizer filter to lessen sediment and some minerals that tend to block up my tankless heater. But i know the one filter wont do a whole lot but it's better then nothing. My plumber installed only one of these and it was blue plastic, so i'm replacing it with this one with a clear housing so i can see the state of the filter. So overall 5 stars as overall they do help reduce sediment and flavor depending on how many filters you add.

Two years on and still no problems. I am swapping out the short Aquasure filter housing for another one of these, because Aquasure use a non-standard filter length and their filters are expensive.I used a spin down 200 micron pre-filter to take the grit out, then this filter, followed by the 10" filter that came with the water softener. I had read the reviews that said this was difficult to seal, but I had no issues. I don't ever want to do this sort of thing twice, so I used the grey pro grade Teflon tape and also pipe dope, again the better quality grade. I lubricated the O-ring with the proper silicon sold for these O-rings. No problems. Nothing leaked. 62 crimps, 8 NPT connections, 7 shark bite connections and not a single drop of a leak.

After reading the reviews, I went with this product. I am on a deep well, but close to the coast and get a lot of sand. A common comment in the reviews was the threads dont have a consistent seal. I used pipe dope and the "Big Boy" wrench and cranked them all down. No leaks. I also used silicone on the filter o-rings. I added pressure gauges before and after the filters just for my information. The pressure was the same for both gauges at install. I'm curios how much it will drop as the filters run over time. I also added the flushable sediment metal screen filter. I hope to catch the majority of the sand in this before it hits the first large filter. I bought a couple of different size micron metal screens to see which one is best for my water situation.

We had issues with iron sediment. Tried the smaller ones which would foul every 3 days or so. I installed two of these in series and very happy with the results. When installing the 1 inch fittings use TONS of tape. I used a lot and could have used more. Had to tighten very tight to stop small leaks.Great product. Would recommend. Easy install.

I like the build quality up until I filled it with water. Its max rated pressure is 75psi, my mains supply is 55, so I thought what could go wrong? Well, the 1inch inlet and outlet leak and despite my using 12m of PTFE tape and 1/3 tube of Ls-x silicone thread sealer on either end I could not get it it to seal. It just weeps.I decided to swap the 1" to 15mm step-down adapting brassware to see if that helped, and low and behold one side is tighter than the other! So I replaced the brass at screwfix thinking it was the step down rings but the threads are milled to different sizes, fractionally, but enough to make one side leak more than the other.

the clear housing is nice so you can see what's going on inside the filter vs the big blue filters.the 1" to 3/4" reducer was only available in galvanized at HD, they are about 10$ CAD each for brass from a plumbing supplier. As everyone said, this 1" fitting leaked like badly. As seen in my install i had a shark bite on either side of the filters so i was able to easily remove them and re-thread the 1" fittings. 8 wraps was not enough, did about 15 wraps smoothing down the thread tape every 5 wraps or so. There are 4 shut off valves in most install diagrams but 4 are redundant so i just did 3 since they are around 12$. We are on city water that has too much chlorine for my liking. i am shocked how dirty the 5 micron prefilter is after only 1 week. Installed myself in about 3 hours, i already owned some pex crimpers. Budget 120$ for all the elbows, T's, valves, etc... it really adds up.

I saw a few negative reviews so I was initially hesitant to purchase the filter. I purchased a few and this is my review of the unit. The filter housing and price are good. The plastic part can not take the heat from soldering the copper pipes, therefore; the soldering needs to be completed for a short distance before attaching it to the housing. In case that you are familiar with plumbing and have experience then purchase the model with 1" fittings (this model) as it includes a brass insert in the plastic housing which is stronger and less susceptible to getting damaged during installation. Here are a few recommendation to prevent the filter or housing from leaking:- Use the pink Teflon tape on the threads- Apply O-ring lubricant to the O-ring washer in the housingWe have been this and other filters with the city water and we have noticed a significant improvement in the quality, taste and smell of the local water.

Overall, the product seems pretty good, but I think they missed a step on my particular one.The outlet passage, from the center output of the filter, and up to the outlet port of the filter housing was blocked. Alost as if the plastic was manufactured with a blockage, and there was one last step to "drill out" the plastic to allow water to flow out.I used a 3/4 drill bit and worked it side to side to create a almost perfectly round openning to the diameter of the sleeve that mates with the filter itself, and now it works just fine.If you're reading this, and you are getting zero flow, check where the filter mates to the center of the filter cartridge. It's a simple fix, but this was clearly missed at the factory.I have a small pilot hole (about 1/8") drilled in my picture, that hole area needs to be removed / drilled out.
