I ordered this several months ago and only installed it less than 3 tanks ago so a few weeks total of actually being installed.Took it off fine the first time, 2nd time had to have husbands help as it wasn’t being cooperative.Today, 25 Feb, ‘25 I pulled into gas station to put my last $20 in and tried for 15 minutes to get the cap off. Asked 3 more people including two gas station attendants for help the following 30 minutes while my cash purchase timed out.None of us could get it to come off. Prayed and hoped that my husband could help again when he got home 3.5 hours later and he couldn’t get it open either.Will have to have it towed if it runs out trying to get to the mechanic to break it off somehow, pay for the demolishing, order new cap, and borrow/rent another vehicle $$$ in order to get child to school, meet critical medical appointments, and work.This is in theory an amazing product just an overall exorbitantly costly product that will end up with me paying 30-40 times more than the cost of the product. Disgusting quality especially for those already struggling to make ends meet in the first place.

It's not super well made. It does work just a lil hard to unlock/lock. For the money we'll worth not getting gas siphoned out of your car. $10 to save ($44×$5) $220 dollars for a full tank in 98 suburban. Would buy again.

Happy this gas cap locks and stays locked! I purchased one from Autozone and despite clicking several times after closing the cap, I was able to remove the cap without a key.

The check engine light kept coming on the check engine light kept coming on in my the car and the mechanic told me it's probably the gas cap that I had on my car so I switched it out and he also suggested that I get a lock one because I had a regular one on my car. It fits perfect and the engine light no longer comes on

I got this cap for my niece's car because we don't necessarily live in the best neighborhoods, I put it on follow the directions on how to get it off, wouldn't come off. For an hour I tried and couldn't get it. I ordered another one for her boyfriend's car but it was a different brand I went on their website and reading a review that said that he did it by turning the key one quarter clockwise while holding it he turned the cat counterclockwise and it worked. So I tried that and it worked they need to fix the directions on that because I'm sure they get a ton of returns because of directions are wrong and if people knew to do it the way it's supposed to be done as supposed to what it says on the gas cap that probably have a lot less returns. I'm keeping it so far as far as I can tell it works I haven't driven it to see if the check engine light comes on if it has a tight seal we'll see but for now I got it working and I'll keep it.

Key does not spring return and if left in the one position, it will not lock and will be like any other gas cap.

I bought this for my Highlander. It was in pieces on arrival but i managed to put it together. Within a couple of days I had an engine light on and ABS system error. I phoned Toyota dealer who told me aftermarket gas caps aren't tight enough and car systems often detect leaks. Ordered the brand cap then and went to take this one off. Opened fuel door and pieces of it fell to the ground. Had to try to put it back together again because it locks and won't just turn. Wouldn't advise anyone to buy this product and have my experience.R
