Good quality plastic. Can see debris collecting. Good fit with cheaper generic filter elements. I great ecomonic solution to sediment filtration. No leaks. I trust the button will pop when dirty. Yet to pop for me

You will need to have some plumbing skills for the installation. We have our own well for our water needs and it does a great job clearing up the water. If you or a plumber install correctly you should have many years without any leakage issues. One suggestion I might offer is to double up the plastic wrench to remove housing for filter changes. The cost is very reasonable. You will need to buy your filters separately.

I just completed installation of two filters. I use two in parallel so don’t have to change as often. They are mounted over utility sink, so one 20” unit would hang down too far. These replaced two Cuno filters that were of smaller diameter, thus the extra piping to move these larger filters further apart. Easiest way in this situation was to install in different directions as you can see.As to these units you may want to note the following:Tighten the threaded fittings into these filters using Teflon tape with pipe dope (I like leak lock) on the threads. You can easily do at least 5 wraps around the threads. Then pipe dope over and a dab on the female threads to be pushed in ahead of male threaded pipe you are using to the filter. I found that the male pipe to solder adapters that I used were able to screw in completely. Right up to the wrench flats. Why all the explanation? Because this method will never leak. Metal into plastic can be problematic sometimes. And don’t solder up close to the plastic filter connection of course! Solder first, then screw the piece in. Wrap with wet rag when soldering next connection down the line.I keep a tube of silicone lube to dab on the threads and O ring mating surfaces when changing cartridges. DONT USE SILICONE SEALER. You won’t get the filter sump off the head. You use lubricant.Due to the design of the filter sump (clear cylinder that holds filter cartridge) the threads are on the inside. So when you change a cartridge and dump out the water, any sediment and dirt in the sump will get caught in the threads. I keep a bucket of water to rinse out the sump as good as I can, then wipe the threads and O ring CLEAN. Reapply silicone to same before reassembly. I believe dirt on the threads and O ring mating surfaces are the cause of leaks reported with house water filters like these. You should keep extra O rings handy. Check they are fully seated in a clean grove when installing. This is a simple, strong solid unit. The plastic is thick on the head and sump. The manual says to replace after 5 years. However, my previous units of the same plastic were in for 27 years. Your mileage may vary.Hope this helps and good luck with your projects!

Very nice. Had to buy the wrench separately so a seemingly great deal got more expensive.I have VERY hard water and a clear container let's you see build up.I have another filter before this one, it is also clear and I used the white filter in it.In this filter I will use the carbon colored one.

Built solid but leaks in the threads. Seal doesn't work very well.

A fairly good copy of the better filter. Hate being nickeled and dimmed to death to get what should be sent with a product. I have purchased dozens and dozens of water filters for houses we built, and never had to buy a wrench, until now! A two dollar plastic wrench should have been included..period. I can’t even find the information for ordering extra o- rings for this product. I e-mailed the company and they didn’t bother answering where to get a spare o-ring. I have my doubts about recommending using this company. Cuno brand is the best by far, but a bit more expensive with great support for their products.

Put this in a couple of months ago. Easy to see and release pressure when you change filters.** Very well made and heavy duty. Much better quality than I expected .... Buy one !

Works good, needed to use sealer on all threads and o ring silicone. Lot of work to thread anything on and changing filter isn't easy. For price it's good. Using 5 micron it has little to no I on flow with fresh filter. I have well water so i seem to need to change filters frequently (1 every 3-6 weeks). I will say even 5 micron takes a lot out of the water in just a day. Will probably setup second one after it with 1 micron filter though I am thinking I might need to split connection and do two side by side 5 micron and 2 side by side 1 micron after to get the best flow. We have pex pipes and used the shark bite fittings they worked good. Inserting this in the line was not terrible. I have a cut off valve on both sides of the filter for changing - this is pretty much nessasary.

Good quality filter housing, just wish the vendor would specify the model of wrench required to open and close the housing, and the food-grade silicone grease required for lubricating the housing threads and O-rings
