This is a wonderful design for barrel use. As you see we used this faucet for an automatic waterer. That way if something goes wrong (as it usually does with chickens) the most I will waste for water is what’s in the barrel. Not have the waterer run all night long if it was hooked up to the house water and failed. Easy to install!! We used a lot of the pip tape on the male part of the faucet the then screws into the adapter. That was the only place we had a drip until we added more teflon tape. I’m happy that none of this plastic. The handle for the valve works well and isn’t too loose. I was afraid a chicken might bump it and switch the valve off. There is plenty of resistance so a bump from the chickens won’t turn it off. Great flow.

Exactly what I wanted. I got two. I used a string to feed it through the hole as someone else here suggested. Made the hole and filed it a little to remove any burrs. First one went super smoothly. Second one leaked. Added 3 layers of tape behind the big nut and it stopped. Make sure the inside and outside is smooth so the rubber washers can seal against the barrel

It works make sure you put it as far down as possible or you will find yourself putting the plastic tank on its back to use the rest of the water.

Love the spout and it seems solid and does the job well. The most difficult part of installation was drilling the hole in the barrel for the spout. The included teflon tape and the quality of the brass fittings made it super easy to install.

It arrived quickly and was easy to install.Since it’s for outside use, I’d strongly recommend to add a bit of silicone to the kit. The chance for it to leak is very real.

These work well for my 55 gallon food grade plastic barrels. The gaskets work well as I have experienced are no leaks. On/off handle works well with a tap spout that allows for screw on connectors for garden hose for watering.
