I had built out my wall and needed to extend the boxes. These are of heavy construction and work well. The box is made with a small edge around the back for added strength which is nice, however I did need to do some light trimming with a knife to get the GFI outlets to fit, but no big deal. The screws that are supplied have a wood screw head which can make adjustments tough if you need to push the receptacle to one side. A trip to the hardware store for some 6-32 1.5 inch machine screws fixed it.

I went to install a motion sensor lightswitch into an external box that was not deep enough to fit both the switch and wiring. This 3/4 inch single gang extension was perfect to accommodate the new switch. I have a few of these boxes that I will be installing smart switches into and these will allow me to have enough depth to install those also. I originally had the motion sensor switch just hanging out of the box until I could figure out what to do. These were Lifesavers vs replacing the existing boxes. These do deserve 5 stars.

I remodeled my garage and needed to bring outlets up to code due to an additional 3/4†thick paneling. These extension boxes fit (I bought an extension box for an ‘old work’ box first that didn’t fit - hadn’t realized that there was a distinction) and are easy to install (no need to disconnect the existing wiring (just make sure to flip the breaker, which is good practice no matter what you do).

Only problem is you can't use them with a triple light switch that is what I was using them for.

Bought these to fill in gap between gang box and tile backslash that previous owners failed to fix. Traced out the exact depth needed and used a rotary tool to trim the extension to meet my needs. They work great
