I had to replace the lower element in the oven and wanted to make sure that the oven temperature was correct. This thermometer solved that issue no more guessing.

We remodeled our split level home to include a kitchen downstairs. As it wouldn't be used on a daily basis, we bought an apartment size gas stove, with a glass oven door. It's a charming, nostalgic model and of course has no touch panel. It took some time to realize the temperature dial wasn't always accurate and it was time to buy a oven thermometer that hangs from the rack. I live in the Seattle area and boy, was it difficult to find one locally. Naturally, I found them on amazon, bought this one, and it works just as I imagined it would.A week later I found an Ace Hardware store selling one. You know them, you can always find many "old fashioned" items. But WOW, the difference in price was astounding! Predictably, when one has difficulty finding an item to buy, the laws of supply and demand -and with it, price increase- happens. But I needed a small thermometer and this Smart Choice item is perfect. Also, it's a good match for my nostalgic stove because it has an analog dial, with bold numbers and colors to differentiate temps on the lower and higher end.

My oven definitely doesnt work. Turns on to 350 then shuts off. Thermostat confirms that. Thermostat works good!
