I initially purchased the Pie Plate Aluminum Metal 9 Inch pans for a purpose completely unrelated to baking, but they have proven to be surprisingly versatile! I needed a way to keep birds away from my garden, and I had heard that birds tend to avoid noisy, moving objects. So, I decided to place these sturdy pie pans in my garden. They’ve worked wonderfully as makeshift bird deterrents! The pans catch the wind and create a clattering noise, which seems to do the trick in keeping the birds at bay.Even though I didn’t purchase them with baking in mind, I can’t ignore how perfect they are for pie making. The heavy-duty aluminum material is both durable and reliable, ideal for withstanding the heat of the oven. The symmetrical shape with raised, slanted edges would give any pie a beautifully crisp, golden crust—whether it’s a classic apple pie, a tangy lemon meringue, or even a savory chicken pot pie. I’m actually considering using them for baking once the weather warms up and I can enjoy a homemade pie on the patio!The 9-inch size is spot on for a variety of pies, making it a great option for smaller portions or for those who don’t want to bake an entire family-sized pie. I buy these every year! I make a ton of Thanksgiving pies for coworkers, friends and family. They are durable enough that pie crusts don’t burn or over cook, even without placing on a baking sheet. I really love them!

These are a perfect light weight pie pan. Granted I started using it for kids plates for food at my house when the food could slide off a plate. It make it a less messy experience and they are really easy to clean.

Would not recommend. Just buy the good pie pans. Would have cost the same amount than these.
