I was skeptical to change this as it seemed like a headache waiting to happen but that was not the case at all. It was a super easy swap and was working perfect in about 10 minutes. Part came with a detailed instruction page with pictures but YouTube is also full of tutorials if needed. If you're going back and forth on doing it yourself I say do it, for 25 bucks you'll be rid of the problem when you could be paying 200 for a shop to do the same thing

Fixed my problem on my 2006 Tahoe not locking. Very easy install. Works as it should now.

Plastic bag arrived torn. Box containing part torn apart. Part did not fit . Was able to install using plastic shell from original part.

Great product, much less expensive than Toyotas part. Came with everything and installed as expected. The only drawback for me is that the tailgate closes a bit louder and harder than the Toyota part did, but I'll live with that since my 4Runner has 311,000 miles.
